Pretty insightful. Says it is happening across college football in general regarding difficulty in running the football.

RE: Clark Interview on Jox This Morning
I guess teams give up some on a pass rush by playing this “clog the middle” theme.
We are poised to take advantage with speedy receivers and a qb with good touch.
Getting outside on running plays should benefit as well.
I like our disruption potential on defense. TFL seem to kill drives with 3rd and long. We were one of the top teams in 3rd down percentage allowed last year and have been good so far this year. I think Akron converted their first 2 3rd downs on that initial drive. After that 2/14 or so.
South Alabama plays Memphis this week while we heal and game plan.
In the previous 3 seasons we are not that good coming off a bye week.

Seems like the clog the middle defense could be countered somewhat by delayed handoffs and misdirections but I am certainly no expert.

I think we'll get better at the run as the OL gains experience and some other guys maybe (hopefully) step up. Couple of the guys that seem to have struggled also struggled in the regular season finale last year when we had several OL starters out.

Lost four starters and our OL coach. That's almost a total rebuild.

Losing Jody Wright was a big loss, coaching and recruiting.
