I love it. Though I agree with some it might need to be tuned to a lower decibel level. But fits perfectly for the school in the city built by and for trains.

I think the main issue with the level it's at now, especially with the higher frequency in the sound, is the duration it's played. It literally hurt my ears when I was there last year. You never want high frequency sounds to be played at that intensity for a long time because that's what does damage hearing. Luckily last year it was only on scores so it wasn't as overwhelming, but it might not be a bad idea to see what an environmental survey says about the noise down on the field when it's used.

I think it's a cool idea....but personally I'd like to see it toned down a bit. I've managed to protect my hearing even after working around jet engines and APUs with the Air Force for over a decade and I'm trying to keep it that way.

I know we have a cannon in our stadium now, but the boom is lower frequency and over in a split second, plus the muzzle is directed up to the sky so all the blast pressure goes into open air.

There are enough people talking about it that I am sure it gets back to them and they make adjustments.

I think it's much better than the Panther noise though.

You mean the wine and cheese Furman crowd doesn't like loud noises. I'm shocked. A golf clap is loud to those people.

Furman fans are still the same. I’m so glad to be out of that conference.

RE: The Touchdown Horn
To be fair the gameday ops crew there isnt used to actually having people in the stands making noise, so it will take a game or two for them to adjust the sound vs real crowd noise vs panama and stan yelling from the concourse double fisting some PBR's.

Yep. The midfield beer bar had 16oz Naturdays and PBR for $3.50. And then a decent beer selection for $6 and above for a 16 oz can. Your typical Bud family selection(Bud, BL, Ultra, Shock Top), Goose Island, and 4 different Sweetwaters.
