It’s the LOI that counts, right?

RE: 2020 MBB Recruiting
I realize I don't know the entire backstory on that situation but I'm not sure that I understand the animosity against the individual.

Kid goes on the first of a series of planned visits. Has a great experience and commits. Was his family aware? Certainly the other planned visits would be applying pressure to continue to tour and wait to commit later. I gather Hofstra in that case felt they were the front-runner all along and that the verbal to W&M was an over-enthusiastic blip and not the end of the story, as indeed it was not.

I just see some parallels to this situation. Hopefully I'm all wet.

the only thing I can say was that a statement that "HE WHO IS UNNAMED" said the next time the was going to take an office visit, he would not have his parents with him. I take it he was persuaded by them!! I may be wrong !!

RE: 2020 MBB Recruiting
Some praise for Kochera tweeted over the last six months:

“St Viator 2020 SF Connor Kochera shooting lights out! 6-5 wing with good athleticism, skill, IQ. Moves well to get open”
https://mobile.twitter.com/scottybscout/...3487523841

“St Viator 2020 SF Connor Kochera playing more on the ball with Scheffers hurt. Doing a nice job in addition to leading team in scoring.”
https://mobile.twitter.com/scottybscout/...4240688129

“SR WG 6’4 Connor Kochera having another strong performance today for St Viator. Knockdown 3 point shooter who has also down a great job of attacking the basket vs a good Bogan team. Has finished well at the rim through contact. Was offered by Siena last night, expect more soon”
https://mobile.twitter.com/MidwestHoopsS...6948157442

“St. Viator’s Connor Kochera continues to impress. Deceptive, creative in scoring it in a variety of ways. Have to love how he gets it done. Making shot after shot against Hillcrest. Will see his offers double soon.”
https://mobile.twitter.com/joehoopsrepor...4519452674

“Really impressive afternoon from 2020 guard Connor Kochera in a St. Viator win over Hillcrest. Moves so well without the ball, scores at all three levels and gets his teammates involved. Lions have competed well against athleticism despite missing some key pieces this summer.”
https://mobile.twitter.com/NBCSPreps/sta...3868527621

“The Connor Kochera show pulls out a win. The natural scorer for St. Viator had 29 of his team’s 48 points, with an array of jumpers off the catch and off screens. Such a pure jumper. Stock definitely continues to rise for the high scoring senior.”
https://mobile.twitter.com/MidwestHoopsS...5319685121

“Connor Kochera just keeps burying shots. Starts second half against Team Rose with two hand-in-the-face threes. The St. Viator 6-4 senior has again been best player on the floor. Playing with so much confidence, doesn’t force, plays within himself while staying ultra-productive.”
https://mobile.twitter.com/joehoopsrepor...4391375873

“St. Viator’s Connor Kochera picks up right where he left off from his outstanding June. Buries tough step-back 3 and finishes two crafty drives to the basket for Fundamental U in matchup with Team Speights. What a summer he’s put together.”
https://mobile.twitter.com/joehoopsrepor...0199461894

“A bevy of MVC coaches...are in GA watching 2020 Connor Kochera. St. Viator 6-4 wing has a quick release and textbook form when shooting from distance. Can shoot off catch and bounce. Easy to see why the mid-major offers continue to roll in.”
https://mobile.twitter.com/RedbirdRecon/...7680919552

“Connor Kochera is just too tough great change of pace move on the baseline for a score and foul. Mercury still up by 4”
https://mobile.twitter.com/coachSPham/st...9793571845

And from two articles published over the summer:

“Already established as a threat from the perimeter last season, the 6-foot-4 Kochera has expanded his overall game as he does just about everything for St. Viator. Kochera can score from all over the floor, drive going both ways and he finds teammates with astute reads with the ball in his hands. Underrated defensively, Kochera is one of the area's best overall leaders as he's constantly communicating with teammates.”
https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/preps-...ssion=true

“Kochera made shots. Shot after shot after shot of all varieties. He shot it off the dribble, he shot it coming off screens, he spotted up from three, he pulled-up from 14-16 feet and he found ways to slither to the basket and finish.”

2020 MBB Recruiting
Saw Wofford & Furman are now following Milkereit on Instagram in the wake of losing Kuchera. I'm very curious if it was an either/or between the two, or if we are still a strong contender. My gut says the slot is filled, but I'd love to stack up talent.

Jake Milkereit just listed his top 5 a couple of minutes ago. Still lists W&M along with Utah State, Wofford, Furman, and Indiana State. I guess Connor's commitment didn't officially end things. He just needs to decide if he wants to share the class with another guard with a similar tool set.

Coach Howland is following soph 5'9" Juco PG, Jalen Moore, at Olney Central. Started all 30 of their games last year, averaging 19+ points and almost 8 assists. He averaged 38.5 points and 5 assists as an Indiana HS senior.

Would love this guy. The way he plays reminds me of JWF especially with the silky step back jumper.

Yes, please. I know he is undersized, but how can a kid have that kind of production out of high school and not be on a D1 roster?

It looks like he lead the entire state of Indiana in scoring as a senior.

I find it interesting that 3 of Milkereit’s top 5 (Furman, Wofford, and Utah St) have not offered him yet. And Burke Smith took an official to Boise St who had not offered him at the time (did they offer him during his visit this past weekend?)

It makes you wonder what players the Tribe coaches are still strongly pursuing and bringing to campus despite no public offer.

I guess Connor's commitment didn't officially end things. He just needs to decide if he wants to share the class with another guard with a similar tool set.

Let's see.....both his parents went to W&M and played varsity sports. He lives in Richmond. So...........he commits to Boise State??????

Must have REALLY wanted to get far, far from home. Maybe he'll transfer back after one year.
