Hawaii shouldn't have had a problem with Arizona or Oregon State?

Don't discount Hawaii just yet. They have two P5 victories and play 108 home games this year. Although it's highly unlikely they beat Washington on the road but if they did and beat Boise on 10/12 and Army at home at the end of the year and is undefeated........I'm just saying.

Any G5 that hasn't lost yet is still alive for sure.

I don’t think Hawaii has to go undefeated. With that schedule they could still get in with a loss (or even two, if they win against Boise)

How is 55-24, and all subs for entire 4Q, struggling?

One loss ... very possibly. Two losses ... very doubtful.

AppfanInCAAland might have been limiting his reference to the still-undefeated G5s who struggled to those teams that played I-A programs yesterday.

Memphis' win does not help the Tigers (in any manner) in their efforts to be the NY6 participant. It was basically a non-game in that specific respect. As a Tiger fan since the late 1960s, however, I was pleased to see some positive things in the victory.

Way too early to be merely a two team race.

When is UCF going to play someone with a pulse?

Meanwhile, Hawaii is 2-0 vs. the PAC 12

UCF does play Stanford next week. Though Stanford got hammered by USC so maybe not a big deal.

Stanford played USC without their QB (although neither did USC). They get their QB back this week.

OK, so facing a USC team in the same QB predicament they were in, Stanford got blown out by 25.

I don't think there's any way a UCF win over Stanford is going to count for much. UCF just isn't facing the high-quality P5 teams that other AAC teams are.

As we have seen in the past, UCF could run the table and not get to sniff the playoffs..........but it solidly puts them in the drivers seat for the Cotton Bowl. Unfortunately the black friday game is gonna kill their SOS, not that it really mattered anyway. At this point, it's all about building the resume and attracting the recruits to keep the train rolling to be the best possible candidate for a P5 conference if something happens this next decade.

I have to admit, the UCF strategy of playing soft P5 to facilitate winning 10+ games amd gain national attention has been working of late.

Maybe Aresco has it wrong?

Any of these that go unbeaten will be a threat for it. If it comes down to similar resumes it’s probably clear that the AAC or MWC team likely has the edge given league strength and reputation.

Based on recent reputation Boise, Memphis, and UCF likely have a small edge thus far.

Hawaii has two P5 wins which helps and SMU is playing a very tough noncon which could be a big help to them. In a battle of one loss teams Cincy would hold a good hand with the UCLA win and despite the margin an understandable loss to tOSU.

Giving up 24 points to a SWAC school is struggling. Also, I forgot about Memphis or I would have said it was 3 way race.

Please stop. Stanford soft A5 when the contract was made. A 1 on 1 I might add. Unless you are talking less home games for the 2 for 1's that USF has done. I am really starting to think you do not care for USF.
