No, they still remain as lost revenue for the ACCN. The legacy of the forced marriage with Raycom lives on through it.

That's a common situation. E.g., the SEC is still paying, via a poor split of revenue with ESPN, for the praised at the time but ultimately bad deal that Slive signed in 2008. The entire structure of the SECN, which is very favorable to ESPN, is colored by the terms of that bad deal. The ACC's revenue from the ACCN will also be adversely affected by the bad deal they signed with ESPN in 2010.

For the ACC and the SEC, it will be sometimes in the mid-2030s before the legacy of lowball deals signed before 2011 are completely washed out.

Oh no the SEC is in a much much better spot than the ACC. They negotiate with CBS and ESPN sooner and have no Raycom deal.
The ACC owns 0 if it’s games until the mid 2030’s and the ACC network won’t do very well with the little profits that come in going to ESPIN.

No question, the CBS angle gives the SEC an advantage that the ACC does not have.

Nevertheless, the SECN would be much more lucrative to the SEC had Slive not signed the bad 2008 deal.

Dish network has acc network. Channel 148.
Sling TV Orange (Sling is only $25 a month with the Orange package. It works best for us since we also have Amazon Prime and use our son's Netflix and a digital antenna)

RE: ACC Network Launch Set
The ACC Network launched the Clemson vs Georgia Tech opening game with over 60 million subscribers. The only holdout of real significance (in the ACC footprint) is Comcast/Xfinity. Who were the folks saying that the ACC Network would be a flop and no one would demand it or want to watch it??? My guess is Comcast /Xfinity and Cox/Contour caves towards College Basketball season approaches or they will lose subscribers!!!!

There was a billboard for ACCN in Chicago. That surprised me. Probably because Chicago is Comcast-dominant and ACC needs Comcast customers to complain.

Give it up...even if The ACC didn’t have a GOR through 2036...no ACC team would jump to The Big 12...SEC or maybe The Big Ten...no ACC team would consider The Big 12

Cox is a go. All that is majorly left is Comcast. There is Uverse as well but AT&T has been trying to get people who still use Uverse to transfer to DirecTV.

Plus ND is 90 miles away and has a few fans in Chicago.

Exclamation RE: ACC Network Launch Set
Comcast has dug in their heels... they have decided not to carry the ACC Network (at least in the short term).

https://accfootballrx.blogspot.com/2019/...-accn.html

This is, at most, a 2-year decision on their part; when the rest of the Disney/ESPN channels come up for renewal in 2 years they won't be able to pick and choose which ones to buy - it's all or nothing with Disney.

I just wonder how many customers Comcast will lose in the meantime - and will anyone even care whether they carry the ACCN or not by 2022?

My guess is by Nov they add it as Basketball tips off... They must be ran by SEC almuni... Folks are getting real worried about the ACCN and the $$ coming their way!

RE: ACC Network Launch Set
What sucks to me is how aggressively ESPN is putting games on the ACCN, which means those of us without it are missing a lot.

For example, today, of the seven games involving ACC teams that are being broadcast on a national TV channel (i.e., not counting streaming only like ESPN3 or on TV but only on a regional channel), four of them are exclusively on the ACCN, only three are available if you don't have the ACCN.

In contrast, of the 12 games involving SEC teams that are being broadcast on a national TV channel, only three of them are exclusively on the SECN.

That is how ESPN rolls. Now that everyone but Comcast has coverage, i would expect more games on there from teams in Comcast areas. More Florida and Virginia games, less NC games

Good News!

I read the other day that my cable provider, COX, had signed on with the ACCN, so this morning I scrolled through my channel guide here in Baton Rouge and lo and behold, not only was the ACCN now listed, it turns out it is in the same tier as the other ESPN channels, so I don't have to pay extra for it.

USF @ Georgia Tech baby!

04-cheers
