LSU/Texas got a 5.8 rating- should get around 9 million
Texas A&M/Clemson got a 4.7 rating- should get around 7.3 million
the LSU/Texas game will be a final top 10 game for sure this year. A&M/Clemson will be close.
Army/Michigan will get around 5.3 million and be on the list for sure as well right now. Cincy/Ohio St will get around 4 million and be on the list now as well...
Those are healthy numbers.
LSU/Texas - looks to be near even with last year's OSU/PSU game (highest rated ABC PrimeTime game of 2018).
A&M/Clemson - looks to be WELL above every ABC Day game from 2018, except the Big XII title game. The 2nd highest rated ABC Day game in 2018 was Ohio State/Maryland at 5.6MM viewers. That game benefited from people tuning in in the 2nd half as they realized it was close. A&M/Clemson did not have that benefit.
Cinci/Ohio State - if it gets 4MM, that's still 14% higher than Oregon State @ Ohio State from last year. Which was fairly similar: Ohio State, Noon game, ABC, blow-out, mid-tier opponent. (the 2018 game did have a weather delay, admittedly)
Army/Michigan - if it gets 5.3MM, that's just behind U-M/MSU 2018 (5.4MM) and just ahead of OSU/MSU 2018 (5.2MM). Both those games were Noon on Fox, so it's a fair comparison. Admittedly, this number did benefit from the closeness of the game, but neither of the two 2018 games mentioned were blowouts either.
It's early, but college football ratings have had some positives here to start 2019. NFL week 1 ratings look promising too, based on the overnights.
