I think he discounts traditional media a little too much when talking about Flo and he is very generous in terms of his description of comparable pricing to other services.

He said baseball was practically fully funded. What about their situation keeps them from being technically fully funded

Due to the conference as a whole going with FLO, he’s probably towing the party line.

No doubt. But this is the department that dumped traditional radio for a season when CAA.TV was launced.

Im all for a strong digital media presence, but no need to limit yourself to Flo when you can incorporate a traditional TV broadcast as well. Im big into streaming but you shut out a lot of audience by ignoring traditonal TV.

Missed opportunity working with Capitol Broadcasting and WILM to get our games on broadly available local TV as well as Flo and CAA.TV for the digital streaming presence. JMU and Northeastern recognize this and believe that it is unwise to put all your eggs in 1 basket. I wish we did as well

New episode out with UNCW assistant basketball Coach Rob Burke. He runs down the current roster. Good way to learn about the new faces.

Pretty good interview. Probably the most we've gotten out of a coach under this regime. He was honest about where some of the players are in their games and it's good to hear. Didn't realize how extensive his background in coaching is too, let's hope everything translates this season.

I thought it was a solid listen as well.

Interesting that Burke described Jake Boggs as a "legit 6'9"". Also that Dodd wears a size 18 shoe, and implied that he still might be growing taller.

I've said it numerous times before too that it's okay to voice concerns, etc. However, when it becomes a mantra of sorts and that's essentially your calling card that we all know and read over and over and over... it can have a negative impact on a program. Go to our "recruits" thread and you'll see posts from any number of us questioning why recruits go to some places over others. We don't know all their reasoning behind their choices. I am a strong believer though, that recruits and families of recruits will venture on to school message boards to get an idea for the environment. It's 2019, thinking parents and family members aren't involved in that aspect is showing a great deal of willful ignorance in a desire to just complain all the time. It's just not in my nature to complain that much either though. Some people it is, and that's okay. I just think some folks disregard the greater impact it can have on others around them from fellow fans to student athletes and everyone in between.
Especially if a school doesn't have many fans on a message board, you may never know when one frequent complainer in general or comment about a player or recruit could make a player not want to play for your school. Furthermore, surprisingly good players can help you make the NCAA Tournament like Flemmings who transferred from Division II. I read that before they were freshmen together, Nathaniel Lester, who scored 1,139, was expected to be better than Charles Jenkins, who scored 2,513.

Northeastern will be on NESN and NESN Plus for the second consecutive season, but JMU's schedule doesn't list any local TV.

Would people like to predict how many assists Toews will have this season?

JMU leveraged the TV side of the Flo deal for football on local TV because that is their primary sport. Northeastern does it for basketball. We should follow Northeasterns's example

I heard that too 70's! Kind of hard to believe, but if true, Boggs could be somebody with his length and athleticism. We know that he needs another 20 lbs of muscle in the end, but homebody has a real shot with his running and jumping. And, they were high on Dodd as well comparing him to a baby Zion. If he were 2 inches taller, he would be unreal but is still a good recruit. He was very high on Dodd for sure. He liked the freshman PG too but mentioned that he needs to get his stroke refined, good hops/quicks and mentioned that Bowen could help the team too with his length/athleticism if he gets his waiver. We need Mike to be Mike and to just do his thing. Don't wait if you have the green light to make plays. He has the tools for sure. Brian T looked really good to me and will deserve minutes at some point-hit a clutch one late in the exhibition unless I'm mistaken. Really good athletic ability and can make plays off the dribble to the hole hard with a pretty good 3 ball stroke. You know what your getting with Skaggs and it will make the difference in some games. You can't leave him open because that's a problem. Good floor spacer for sure. Jenkins...I'm not sure about but hopefully will thrill the crowd a few times this year.

It was good to hear what the returning guys were about. I really like Sims, always have. You can tell that he lives the game and works on his craft. Good to hear about Estime improving and it was good to know that Kai has been on a mission to own his 3 ball. I always felt that his stroke was legit and he's putting in the work to knock it down. IT"S THE WORK (and seeing it happen via good footwork and good release mechanics) that pays dividends in the end because YOU KNOW that you've earned it and deserve to take that big shot. We know what Ty brings and we like it (efficient player on offense and works hard on defense). Marty will be a pleasant surprise mark my words. He is smart plus tough and is crafty around the rim with both hands and can pass. Passing from a big is SO undervalued guys. If he can pass out to an open 3 ball for 1-2 makes per, that is absolutely huge!

At any level, especially the CAA, you have to develop yourself and your game. Nothing beats hard work, nothing.
