He is exactly the type of player we should be recruiting and securing a commitment from to play at ODU. If ODU wants to be consistently on top of CUSA we have to win these recruiting battles.
I agree, but its going to be mighty tough to pull a kid out of Georgia with an offer from Ga Tech, not to mention Wake Forest. I hope we land him, but wont be shocked to see him elsewhere.
We do need to lock up an official visit, already Jaden has a couple scheduled. One visit just announced is Iowa St, I don't think they even have a Chick-fil-A there. We got one on campus in the Webb Center. Here is his Jr highlights, he had a very good summer.

Murray is a good team. As much as we probably hate to admit it, they are legit competition for recruits, you just don't hear much about them. Kind of like ODU. More understandable than losing a player to JMU, Liberty or ECU etc.

So our biggest moment is a buzzer beater to head to NIT final 4? And we didn't win the NIT.

Those are regular season titles. 17 conf tourney titles, 17 MCAA appearances. So apparently never received an at large bid.
What kind of competition do they have in the OVC though? Belmont? WKU and MT used to play there though I don't know how good MT was at that time. We still lead the CAA with the most titles, would they have won as many titles playing in the CAA? We Really should have more 1st round wins in the NCAA. I wouldn't say they are heads and shoulders a better program than ours.
Other than conference titles, its not that different and they have often been in a much easier conference. I stand by the thought that we are pretty equal with Murray State. My point earlier was that Murray is good, and just because many may not have heard of them or have respect for them we shouldn't feel bad losing a player to them. I would hope we think we are better than MS, and vice versa. Very similar programs.

Sure, but they've also won a NCAAT game 6 times compared to our 3. That would imply their program is better than ours, regardless of how difficult the conference is. Extreme example is Gonzaga.
I don't like to elevate or argue for other teams, but it seems kind of obvious they have had more success than we have. Last year they had a player selected #2 in the NBA draft. I wonder which program has more exposure for better recruiting.
One could argue an easy conference to win is an easy path to the NCAA, giving them more opportunities to win there. Telling a potential recruit that they are very likely to go to the NCAAT at least once in their 4 years seems pretty strong to me.

That's regular season, which doesn't automatically qualify for the NCAAT. The confernce title (17) is due to winning the conference tournament and getting the automatic NCAAT bid.

I don't disagree with your final statement, but I do think they have had more overall success than we have as a basketball program both overall and recently.
