Virginia in 2011 was better than State will be in 2019. They’re gonna be bad. And no, Troy isn’t close to what our CUSA schedule was back then.

I’ll give you that we can’t say much about OOC yet, because we haven’t seen how they end up, but conference is easy to compare. Let’s not try to rewrite history to make the grass look greener here.

Fed's 4th season was a lollipop schedule compared to our schedule this season.

The ACC third place team (one game from playing in the title, an undefeated Houston, an (at the time) 5-1 SMU, and plenty other solid teams. Outside of Bama, it’s hard to say many on our schedule compare at all to the strength of 2011’s schedule. State is going to be less than average and CUSA is the same.
Houston was not on our schedule, they were in the Cmap Game. MSU and Bama are better than anyone we played in the regular season and Troy is better than most of our C-USA schedule.

I don't think Troy and MSU are going to be as great as you think by seasons end. Alabama will be.

No way. That UVA team was 71 in Sagarin. They got lucky in several games to get to 8-5.

State will put together a typical top 20-30 State season.

State will be 5-7 best. Their offense was bad last year and it’s going to be worse this year. All they have is a defense.

Hard to predict MSUs win total this year but will be their weakest team in several years. Def the year for USM to beat them. Looking forward to this game. Competent QB and OL play and we walk out of their stadium laughing.

We will beat MS State, get 10+ wins, win CUSA, get a T25 ranking if we do these 2 things:

1. Run the ball effectively
2. Not turn the ball over.

I see 6 wins for them at a minimum.

That will be tough with 7 away games.

It so dumb that ESPN has them ranked 16th. Take a look at their roster and you will see they are loaded with talent. They have been recruiting near the top 15 in all the recruiting rankings for the last 5 to 7 years.

Troy is dangerous, very dangerous. They are on a run like never before with several straight 10 win season and big wins over P5 teams. They will be jacked to see us and we will get their best shot. If we come away with a win at Troy, we should have a nice year but if we start 1-3, we will struggle to get bowl eligible.

Not sayin they won’t be good, but an ESPN high rating of any team in their sugar daddy SEC is to be expected to be a little, shall we say, hopeful....

They are staring an 8-5 season in the face. That’ll get them to 21st in the final AP poll if they win their bowl game for that eighth win. 8-5 is the same record Virginia had in 2011.

Troy's been promoting the home schedule pretty heavily, especially the Southern Miss game. Troy has already sold out the north endzone seating for that game, which only happened once last year when Boise State visited.

Nice. I'll be there for the game. Will be my first time visiting yalls stadium. I really wish we could trade Troy for UTEP. I'd make that deal in a heartbeat.

I would think we will bring a good amount of fans too. This game is almost a must win for us with MSU and Alabama being our other non-conference games. All 3 are on the road too.

I guarantee you that there isn't one university president in C-USA that wants to be associated with Troy in anything.

Did you just decide to come here and be a jackhole for no reason?

Since when has anyone ever wanted to be associated with Florida Atlantic? Let me guess your response... because of your academics and R2 status?? Or your TV market that you have no pull in whatsoever?

Do you think most Sun Belt schools enjoyed having your crap school in the conference? Your football program played in a trash dump for most of your SBC tenure, and contributed absolutely nothing in the sport. You went 6-27 in OOC play while in the Sun Belt, and had a 26-34 conference record. Your basketball program departed with a 97-123 overall record while being in the Sun Belt, with only two winning seasons... and you're still playing in that same high school arena that you had when you were in Division II.

Gimme a break...
