Question Rice Baseball Fall Ball
Sounds like Bragga is moving up Fall Ball from previous year (when we'd start the last week in September and go through early November). According to Kendall and D1Baseball, we play exhibitions at home vs. Sam Houston State on October 4th and at A&M on October 11th.

My guess is that this means Fall Ball practices and intrasquads will likely kick off no later than the week of September 16th, and perhaps a week earlier than that.

Perhaps in order to finish by midterm break?

Why would this be a goal? I think Wayne preferred to push it back in the Semester so he had more time to work with the pitchers in bullpens prior to the official start of intrasquads. Also, the weather tends to be a bit cooler once you get into mid-to-late October.

Wayne's not there anymore.

Maybe Bragga wants it that way.

Isn't that what I said? I was just wondering what his logic was (and not pining for the return of The OG).

Walt, have you heard anything on any new "tech" possibly being implemented this Fall/Spring.

Also, for you baseball analytic guys, the book MVP Machine is excellent and talks about the colleges implementing the tech and the challenges as well.

No, I've heard nothing beyond the initial response from Bragga on the NY Times article I sent him, but I hope to meet with him when I'm in town late September. This would be an ideal expenditure for the RBI Club, IMO.
