Update:

Okay. So this is more just an obsession of mine, but I have to report this even though it has nothing to do with NIU or the MAC.

Jordan Guest (3* 6'9" PF) has announced his transfer from Boston University to...........Tallahassee Community College.

If you remember back a couple months, I noted that a number of MAC players were transferring to TCC. Well, here's another. To date, TCC has added (all from D-1 programs):

DeAndre Gholston (Kent State)
Christian Guess (Missouri)
Jordan Guest (Boston University)
Eric Hester (Akron)
Isaih Moore (College of Charleston)
Tariq Silver (Eastern Michigan)
Daivon Stephens (Eastern Michigan)

That's 7 D-1 recruits that have transferred to Tallahassee Community College to play next season. SEVEN!!!!

Granted, none of these guys made any type of impact for their teams last season but they were all D-1 recruits and two of them (Guest and Hester) were 3* recruits.

I just find this whole thing interesting. Thanks for indulging me.

I wonder how much they are paying them.

Possibly nothing. I'm guessing this coach has some serious D-1 connections and is promising these guys transfers back to D-1 next season. I mean, how can this not be a national powerhouse in the JUCO level? They're going to get attention and they'll probably win a **** ton of games. I don't know, maybe he is paying them. But with all the heat on the NCAA right now, seems like a risky time to be paying guys who played almost 0 minutes for a bunch of MAC schools and some other mid-majors.

I'd just almost bet this guy is connected. Although, I've looked over his resumé and absolutely nothing stands out as him having any ties anywhere, but there has to be something.

I just did a google search looking for any articles written on them and the only one I found that was relevant just went over how this coach is in his first year and is keeping only 1 player from last years team on the roster. They mention the high number of D-1 transfers but whoever wrote the article just kinda highlights it and states that the goal of the program/coach is to win at a high level.

Big Red, I was just being whimsical with my response but you may be on to something here.

Keep digging. Follow the money.

RE: 2019-20 MAC Basketball Transfers (Updated)
Sorry to bring you back to basketball right now (obviously only if you are choosing to read this...), but I have another....

NIU Update:

NIU has made an offer to 2020 recruit Luke Scheffers from St. Charles North HS. Scheffers is a 6'1', 165 lb, 2* PG who has another offer from Lewis University.

I couldn't find any stats on him from last season (he started on and was a leader on a StCN team that had lost a lot of seniors the year before) other than they lost to Rockford East in the sectional semifinals. In the video I watched, he comes off as a nifty little basketball player who sees the floor well, makes slick little passes and has a decent shot. In other words, to me he looks like a fine high school basketball player. I absolutely do not see D-1 in him. From what I can tell, it appears his best attribute is that he appears to be a genuine floor general.

Watched Luke in high school. A perfect fit for NIU. Steph Curry type skills.

Steph Curry type skills? And he has offers from NIU and Lewis......hmmm, Ann Curry type skills would be a better definition of perfect fit for NIU.
