RE: ACC Network
I think the games televised via RSN’s in the past have been streamed via ACCNX so I guess that does make sense now that I think about it some more. But, the Citadel-GT game isn’t exclusive to ACCNX like some other games against D1AA opponents are.

RE: ACC Network
There are supposed to be 17 total games on the RSNs this year. So far, we only know about two of them.

Matt Sarzyniak has a good breakdown of all of the conference games that are known so far.

AT&T U-verse, DirecTV and the streaming service DirecTV Now are playing hardball with CBS.

If they're willing to forego CBS broadcasts of the NFL and SEC football in a carriage fee dispute, I wouldn't be surprised if they play hardball with ACCN. I also wouldn't be surprised if they lose a lot of customers.

This may reveal how expensive the ACCN is relative to the others also (e.g. has CBS, which has high rates for OTA content, priced itself out of the market?)

ACCN has already signed its deal with DirecTV, which is the largest carrier with which it has signed. DirecTV Now and U-Verse have not been signed yet. I don't see DirecTV Now as likely to be a problem, as they place the specialty sports channels on a special tier that includes Cinemax for the rather pricey cost of $20/mo on top of the base $50/mo cost for the tier with HBO. Because of this pricing structure, though, it's actually a pretty bad option anyway for anyone desiring any of the specialty sports channels that it includes.

RE: ACC Network
It is possible that DIRECTV NOW (soon to be AT&T TV NOW) is not going to get the ACCN. AT&T seems to be making all kinds of changes, so signing new contracts may not be on their immediate to-do list.

As far as most customers are concerned they will just buy a digital antenna and pick up a CBS affiliate that way.

RE: ACC Network
Since a great deal of the appeal of the ACCN is basketball and basketball season is 3 months away, I wonder if the pressure to add the ACCN now is not as great for some carriers given that football only demand will not be the same as the SECN.

Perhaps. Even so, the SECN launched without a bunch of big players (most of them signed within a week or so), and the ACCN may be the same.

BTW, I'm hearing from fans who've spoken with their providers that both Charter and Comcast are telling customers they plan to have the ACCN from day one (which, keep in mind, is still nearly 3 weeks away).

Stressful? YES.

Doom and gloom? That's premature.

I pulled the plug on YouTubeTV for Vue and shot them an email saying it was because of the ACCN. I'm doing my part.

I'm giving Charter/Spectrum until the week of the launch because they are giving me a pretty good price. I have requested the ACCN channel more than once as well.

If my team was opening on it...I'd probably have done it by now too. I'm going to wait another couple weeks.

Give us a report on the Vue vs YTV when you get a chance.

Great news. Let's hope this is the beginning of a rising wave over the next 10-15 days.

Vue is better in every way.

Better phone interface. MUCH BETTER web browser interface. Unsurprisingly a much better PS3 interface. Vue is better (but a bit buggier) on ChromeCast.

They both do sports DVR differently though. With Vue you can follow a sport .... THE WHOLE SPORT. EVERYTHING. But you can't follow the teams in the sport. With YouTubeTV you can follow the teams but only the teams ... you can't follow the whole sport. I'm just about crazy enough to want to follow the whole CFB sport. Especially since my ESPN Goal Line time is sacred since I only get 12 Saturdays a year of it and ESPN keeps nickeling and diming and cutting on how much and what level of production quality they'll give you on Goal Line. Long gone are the days of getting recaps several times a day and having real quick change effort and split screening and aggressive coverage for solid hours on end.

I got a bit side tracked there. Pet peeve. Anyway .... if Vue would let me just record all the GT and/or all the ACC FB and Atlanta Braves games .... and not have to sort through Mets and Yankees and Minnesota BTN Classics replays to get them .... then it would be perfect. And Vue is cheaper. And Vue is supported (nicely) on Amazon devices. This makes it really really easy to setup "split" accounts if you have family living in the same area. Especially since Vue doesn't count ChromeCast or phone streams against your stream cap. So hypothetically speaking I'm now paying about $40/mo for Prime Video and Netflix and Vue and with all the CFB channels I want. Now if AT&T would just hurry up with their fiber roll out in the area to put some price pressure on Charter, because they don't budge off their pretty rip off pricing for high speed internet if you don't have any TV or phone. There's no *real* competition for the speeds Charter offers at the latency they offer. AT&T's U-Verse is slow and their fiber roll out is even slower. There's a wireless ISP in the area but I don't want the latency (~100ms) that introduces. There's another DSL company but their speeds are straight out of 2005. When Google Fiber came to Charlotte and Atlanta both AT&T and Charter freaked out. Charter deployed the latest DOCSIS in the area and gave free double speed upgrades. AT&T started running fiber to the last mile and fiber to the last distribution junction but really slowed down when Google called it quits with any further Fiber expansion.

RE: ACC Network
Vue is $5 more but you get NFL Network and ESPN Goalline. You can also add NFL Redzone in a sports pack.

Seems like there are only 4 major ones left, Comcast, Charter, Cox, and Dish
