Cajuns get your boats ready
I may hate you cajuns in football season but I don't want to see you drown. Keep an eye on that system in the gulf. Looks like it might get some serious rain on you folks. Be safe.

Already done my prepping. Looks like straight to Lafayette right now on the tracks with 16-24 inches of rain. Looks like the Cajun Navy might be at home this year.

Are Lafayette and Monroe in the northern part of the LA boot, or are they more southern? I'm not familiar with Louisiana georgraphy other than I know where NO is and Thibodeaux because I've been there a few times.

Either way, stay safe and batten down the hatches.

Lafayette is lower near the coast, Monroe is upper closer to Arkansas

Some would argue that Monroe is southern Arkansas. Sorry, couldn't help myself. 03-lmfao

Lafayette is roughly 30 miles north of Vermilion Bay which is open to the Gulf of Mexico. Monroe is roughly 30 miles from the Arkansas border.

I was just in Lafayette for work on Wednesday. Ate lunch at a place called Prejeans. Absolutely delicious.

RE: Cajuns get your boats ready
Thanks to some dry air to the North, it hasn't been as bad as it could have been.

We're going to get more rain today, but I think we'll be around eight inches or less total.
