RE: 2019-2020 Roster Movement
We are going to be pressing and playing a lot faster this year, so if Cumberland plays more minutes than last season, that's not a good thing in my opinion. Plus we should have lots of depth on the wings. No reason to wear him down before March unless we are constantly playing close games (let's hope not).

RE: 2019-2020 Roster Movement
To the above point, I think we'll run some teams out of the gym that would have been 15-20 point margins of victory in the past. So hopefully there will be more blowouts early in the year where Cumberland can rest in the 2nd half. The only downside to playing faster though is having less ability to muck things up against more talented teams. However, I think Brannen will recruit at a high enough level to where that won't happen very often in the future.

lol...I know we have a new coach now, but at this point, this statement has been said at the beginning of every year since about 2006 to no avail lol.

You'll pardon me if I'm a little gun shy on this.

I hope we at least get the ball up the floor quicker. Watching Duke in this last NCAA tourney, I was impressed with how fast they brought the ball up the floor looking for an easy basket. If it wasn't there, they pulled it back, but they at least tried every time they got scored on to counter with a fast break.

Opposing teams have had plenty of time to get their defense set after they score against us. They didn't need to worry about a quick counter.

Agreed on the press talk. Cronin's teams pressed the hell out of the Arkansas Pine Bluffs of the world. Wichita State and Houston - not so much.

We just offered Austin Van Zyl a 2019 point guard. Is more possible roster movement still in the cards?

I mean, who else would go? Moore is probably the last option...

Hope it is not Moore; really always like the kid's effort and hope he becomes an important contributor the next couple years. But he and I guess all our new 2019 recruits with exception of Harvey have done some practices under Brannen. Maybe some have doubts where they fit; that might be what happened with Hardnett. Maybe Adams-Woods or McNeal are having second thoughts. The transfer portal grows everyday so rosters probably will be in flux for a long time. The newcomers signed scholarship papers; not sure if that protects us or if Adams-Woods can sign elsewhere. Overseas offers are always out there now so maybe a McNeal might jump ship; sure hope money doesn't lure Jarron away at the last minute.

I agree, I'm excited to see what Moore can do in a new system. With that said, there are a lot of question marks surrounding the offer so I guess we'll just have to see how it all plays out.

Seems like a fake offer to me. He is supposedly playing in a pro league, which I believe would make him ineligible for the NCAA anyway. Plus it sounds like he pulled this with IU last week. Sounds like a kid trying to get his name out there.

I dont know if that precludes him from NCAA eligibility (can't really recall how Hrycianuk was eligible after playing professionally in Poland), but yeah, it does appear that he's just peacocking at this point.

I believe you can play professionally and keep your NCAA eligibility if you aren't paid. I think this was the case with Adam "The missed layup machine" Hrycianuk.

I remember a guy named something Hernal Hall (?) that Cronin got back in the early days. He was supposed to be pretty good.

He got ruled ineligible by the NCAA because he played on a team that had a paid player-coach, Shawn Respert from MSU.

RE: 2019-2020 Roster Movement
Andy Katz is doing a gradual countdown on his prediction of the top 25 players in college basketball next year. He has already named #25 down to #16. Katz hasn't given us any love in his top team predictions but surely he will have Jarron rated highly.
Any predictions where Katz will rate him?

I’ll say 12. Which reminds me of the guy on CBS last year who didn’t have Jarron in the top 100 lol

You get in the top 15 or 20 it's a mix'em and match'em. Good to see he's getting the pub. I really look forward to watching him(and them) this season. He'll be a guy i'll miss watching when he's gone.
