Yes a lot of under the radar kids. But I think we were all hoping for some bigger splashes. Barely any power 5 offers from any of these recruits. Now the star rating doesn’t mean much once you hit mid to low 3 star anyway, but WMU and Toledo per usual are getting guys with multiple P5 offers. It’s still early in the game and bigger recruits can come knocking when the music stops and they need to sign somewhere before signing day.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that the NIU recruiting budget is probably one of, if not lowest budget in the MAC. We have to do more with less.

Not seeing any P5 offers for any of the Rockets' 2020 verbals. Most of the commits are under the radar guys so far.

This year will be the second year of early signing period. P5 schools learned a lot from the first one. I predict more late offers prior to the signing date so they might sign better second choice recruits instead of them signing with MAC level schools.

Bowers, Childers and Thompson will all be leaving at the same time. So if Valenti isn’t the guy or leaves or whatever, it will be this walk-on Bryce or a redshirt fresh that comes in the ‘20 class. A lot can happen in 2 years and another Bowers could fall in their lap, but if not, they may be feeling the repercussions of the failed qb recruits of the last 2 years.
But for now...Bowers to the MACC!
I suspect the next starting QB after Bowers will be a Coach E guy (selected and groomed) so he's likely not yet been recruited. Hopefully, Bowers and the Offense start out hot and open the eyes of some talented, non-committed, QB recruits. It'd be nice to land a 4-star pocket-passer in the 2020 class.
Looks like he was just recruited.
Okay, 3.5-star (.8538 rating) and not categorized a "pocket passer" but only because he's so athletically gifted, he can throw the rock.

This may be the best QB commit we've ever landed. With that said I'm still holding my breath until December.

Actually, the subject of this thread was rated .8696/88 coming out of high school (yeah, yeah, I know you probably mean landed coming straight out of high school).
Can anyone imagine landing either of those two just six months ago?...

Maybe getting away from read/option and going to more pocket passing is a big part?

Bowers is a very mobile QB. I don't expect him to run the ball 20 times but there will still be designed runs/read options in play book.
