I hope he's not vegan. Kid needs to meet meat. City would like his quote about "big city" feel. Kennesaw is just outside Atlanta, a few miles and probably less than an hour commute on a good traffic day so he should know big city.

He was a top target at QB for UT along with Michael Pratt. So when you get YOUR guy it’s always a good day in recruiting!!!

The Hudl video speaks for itself. He is very aware of all his check downs, sees the field well with very wide field vision, accurate, good arm strength, resists caving and running before he has gone through all options, plays against very good competition, loves UT. What is there not to like about this young man?

It will be interesting to see if Pratt also commits since he is also supposedly “WARM” for Toledo. He also visited in late May.

All in all another excellent recruit for UT and by the UT staff.

Offers from the AFA, Harvard, and Yale...so he'll definitely contribute towards the GPA. According to 247, he is now the highest rated commit as well. Looks to be a guy who can play safety and receiver.

Coaches really hitting small school Ohio more than usual this year. Or is it just an impression? Measurables have to be coming out of camps. I seem to recall thinking several of these have not faced any state level team speed on the high school field.

If I'm right and it's not just an impression, this is going to be an interesting experiment. I'd say they're hoping the kids are physically and athletically under their potential but have the attitude they'll earn those "stars" under college level training. Certainly worked for Cody Thompson.

I think u are right to some extent East. According to Nick’s tweets he was offered a few days ago and he instantly accepted the UT offer. I believe he worked out for the UT coaches at last weeks Friday Night Lights camp this led to the firm offer. He was already well up on UT’s board so it’s a win/win. Kids run a hand timed 4.39 forty. 21’7” long jump this year and he’s never ever run track before. Kids an all around athlete with GREAT hands a legit deep threat due to speed and hands.

Per quotes on 247 by Steve Wiltfong - UT has recruited him both as a WR and S (athlete).

Todd Bumphis commits to Chincinnati

More solid recruits for UT !!! UT has two prototypical tackles in the fold.

UT would certainly love to have Bumphis but he was not considering MAC schools IMHO. Move on.

Tanner Wigand is a 2-way player at Manitowoc Wi (DT & OT). He has good foot quickness at DT which bodes well for good play at OT. He will surely play OT at UT.

He’s an interesting prospect for sure.

Thompkins played at Ecorse last season and will play senior year at Detroit Denby in DPSL. He has great size and blast. Like Northcoast stated - Latrell also had offers from UC and UK. UT has commitments from 3 DE’s so far. That’s probably the target amount unless a great prospect falls into our lap.
