Hardnett in the transfer portal
Really hope this was in motion before Harvey came on the radar. But regardless looks like we have a top 50 wing coming on board. Imagine Davenport redshirts now.

Without knowing too much I just wanna point out how obvious it seems to be that Harvey will be coming on board.

RE: Hardnett in the transfer portal
If Harvey is 2020, it wouldn't matter either way. But if he is in fact able to reclassify to 2019, we would need the extra scholarship. Really hate to see Hardnett go. Of the two red-shirts, I thought he had the most potential. We are going to be really thin up front this season. Trevon Scott is going to have to stay out of foul trouble and give us 30 minutes a night or else we are going to get abused inside.

Well, exactly. There have been rumors about a 2019 reclass for Harvey and then this happens. With how quickly those crystal balls came out of the blue, you begin to see all the stars lining up.

For sure. Sucks to lose more depth up front, but I'm guessing the staff didn't want to pass up the opportunity to grab a top 50 commit. Just hope Hardnett wasn't completely forced out. Also, is there any chance of Vogt being able to get a waiver? Or is he for sure going to have to sit out this year? Didn't know if we could pull something off since he followed his coach.

Why? Hardnett & Davenport play a different position from Harvey. Hardnett is 6'8" 210 lbs and Davenport is 6'5" - 6'7" (depending on the source) 205 lbs. Harvey is a 6'4", 170 lb shooting guard.

With Hardnett gone, that's more minutes for Davenport.

Also from what I've heard from a Cincinnati-area high school coach, Davenport is not the type of player that will benefit from a redshirt year. Supposedly he had the most developed game of any local player as a senior at Moeller.

RE: Hardnett in the transfer portal
Hardnett wasn’t getting frontcourt minutes. I think Prince gets minutes at the 4, but i could easily see one big and four wings. The Valpo transfer gets major minutes based on size alone.

RE: Hardnett in the transfer portal
Was excited to see what Hardnett had but honestly, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy with this development, assuming the smoke is right.

You can play guard-heavy rotations effectively in college, and it looks like we'll have the personnel to do that this year.

RE: Hardnett in the transfer portal
Was intrigued by Hardnett's potential, thought he seemed like a little more polished Tre Scott, but was probably about 2 years from being able to contribute. Harbey is clearly someone that will instantly be able to impact this team.

Not very difficult to see what position Brannen wants to emphasize in his system...

RE: Hardnett in the transfer portal
I thought Hardnett was an intriguing prospect. Never saw him play except at last year's intra-squad game, but he had excellent high school credentials leading his team to the Maryland state high school basketball championship. Guy was reportedly a warrior with similar skill sets to Trevon Scott. Would always welcome a player like that. Sorry to see Hardnett go, but if he will still have four years of eligibility left, he will make some school happy that they signed him.

There have been rumors about him leaving for a while now. And I'd say it's been in motion for a good month. His game just isn't suited for what Brannen wants to do. People jumping all over CJB and making baseless assumptions (not saying you) are absolute tools.

Harvey will be reclassifying and in the '19 class.
