Offseason Discussions: SBC Facility Projects
Got around to the stadium this morning and took a pick of the ongoing work on the new football complex...

Looks like everything is coming along nicely! It made me curious about the other projects going on in the Belt. Anybody have pics and/or updates to share?

Looks like Troy is getting new turf. Will have colored endzones similar to pre-2012 (these have been green with white lettering since, i.e. no color / transparent endzones). Mid field shield logo will be the power "T" logo. Nothing is final, there could be some changes.

What are the covered areas in the corners? Suites?

Also, are those standing areas below with counters?

Really got going in March with the demolition of the old field house. This fall is going to be interesting logistically to say the least. August 2020 estimated completion.

The Grey Awnings are covering the bars.

the counter top seating in the endzones actually have high bar chairs (they're all clobbering together in the corners of the upper walkway) The corner counters are standing room areas

Like RamblinRW said, the covered areas are the bars/concessions for the endzone seating. This is premium seating and you can't get in there without tickets in the endzone. The "standing area" that you mentioned will have bar height table and chairs in those areas during the season.

We also have a new convention center/hotel (Embassy Suites) next to the stadium, which should be open in September. I grabbed some pics from our board that will show you the concession/bar area and the convention center

I must say... that endzone facility Arkansas State has added has really added an extra ambiance that the stadium needed desperately. It adds a lot to the experience in the stadium.

Thanks! I also must say the proposed rendering of Troy's new turf looks slick!

New golf house coming right along. 5 practice greens and 4 acre wedge practice area.

Don't have any images to share right now but medical school is moving along quickly. Going to be a completely different view for those of you who have visited before.

Seriously, the convention center/hotel project is interesting. Do you have more info? I wish Troy would get sth like this right next to the stadium or opposite of Trojan Center.

A lot of work to be done on Hancock Whitney Stadium to finish in 457 days (Sept. 12, 2020). Although a good bit further along than the above twitters show. Looks like Coastal's addition is coming along nicely.

A whole novel could be written on getting a convention center in Jonesboro. This is the 3rd location that was attempted, and finally worked out. A 4th attempt was made and we were going to have 2 convention centers in Jonesboro, but that project fell apart. The hotel/convention center is owned by O'Reilly Hospitality Management. There will be a hospitality management program at ASU that is partnering with the hotel. It will have a Houlihan's restaurant. 202 rooms. 40,000 sqft convention center.

It is also going to make traffic around the arena and stadium a LIVING nightmare lol
But my wife is stoked for Houihan's lol
