I would think that you would want some type of control
Conf office & network would get a lot of recommendations

It obviously isn't that, because ESPN and Fox are paying the Pac-12 $3 billion for 12 years' worth of 44 football games/year and about 70 basketball games/year, with 82% of that money for those football games.

Could be $5 billion total for the next 12 years of Pac-12 media rights.

The quoted bid values don't necessarily have to be for a 15% share ... "How much will you pay for 15% ownership?" "Well, we might consider paying $750m, but we'd need more than 15% ownership."
