Like it or not, teams still draft according to the college that people attended.
Only exceptions are the real high profile prospects.

It is all part of the MONEY driven cycle that favors the wealthiest national programs. The NFL draft is just the last hurdle in that cycle. Schools like this state's P5 programs which have $150 million AD budgets can attract Top 300 athletes and support them at about $200,000 annually per athlete which helps them attract the next year's Top 300 crop. (Bama recently announced a $5 million upgrade for its "athletic nutrition program". This goes well with their waterfall and ceramic elephant ambiance.) Add in a coaching staff at about $15 million annually, and you get your name called regularly on NFL Draft Day. Since almost none of this funding is from the state's SETF, very little (if ANY) state oversight is done.

Probably a dozen UA players drafted and close to 100 SEC players drafted, zero UAB players. We have a couple who maybe should have been drafted.
Then again, Samford had a NCAA record holder who didn't even get drafted.

NFL coaches and GMs get paid to win games, not draft players from certain conferences.

Roughly 60 percent of NFL rosters P 5. Heck look at HOF class of 2018 6/8 of inductees were not from P 5 schools
