Bad facilities or not, 15-41 isn't something that's good for job security.

Six years in the SBC: 142-192, 60-114 in the Sun Belt.

One conference tournament win (1-4).

I never root for coaches to lose their jobs, but I don't think the AD is a dufus for making this move.

Little Rock's facilities really aren't much better. And, they were good enough to be a 3 seed this year.

Isn't the guy who made this decision's contract ending in a month?

He played on the same Troy national championship team as Mark Smartt. Frady is a good coach, but unfortunately things didn't work out well... on top of having to recruit Sun Belt-level talent to play at that awful baseball field.

Unless he retires, wouldn't surprise me to see him land elsewhere as head coach.

Charlie Cobb getting all of his guys in. Makes sense. In 5 years we'll have new football, basketball and Baseball facilities. Turning the page.

Not bad facilities. Recreation league level facilities.

Let's see who replaces him.

Foundation paid for football and will pay for convocation. Not so much for baseball for which CC has raised nothing.

I surmise that its budgeted somewhere otherwise you'd have a huge undeveloped hole between the dorms and the rest of the Carter projects. Don't take that much to erect a baseball stadium

No offense, but when I was in high school, we had a better baseball facility than you guys do now and that was almost 30 years ago. That's not just on Cobb, but every AD you've ever had.

RE: Frady out at GSU
Wasn't there a nice rendering of a possibly proposed new GSU baseball stadium near the football stadium? I remember that rendering being pretty impressive. Is that off the table or just a matter of raising the funds to be able to build it?

We've been "raising funds" for new baseball/softball offices/locker rooms for a decade with nothing to show for it so I know how it goes.

baseball stadium is in the plans, but the subject won't be touched until the Convocation Center is finished in 2021. Fair or not, baseball will always take a backseat to football and basketball.

It takes exactly $5M. So as you surmise, yes not much. But again, convocation is a state funded, BOR approved and foundation managed project that just also happens to be the home of GSU MBB. Same for GSUS. For the the baseball stadium the AD would have to raise that money and his forte is budget cutting not fundraising.

Our baseball "stadium" is an embarrassment especially when you realize how little money fixes the situation.

That's a neat excuse. Means not AD and President will deal with it.

You say that but I see no evidence that he isnt raising funds. Everything is going as scheduled. Mat not be as fast as we would be but all the phases are going as planned.

They bought Turner Field. Seems they could've utilized some ingenuity to maintain the basic structure of the baseball field while also allowing for a conversion to football. A two for one of Grade A facilities in the heart of Atlanta.

Personally, I think the upcoming P5 visits to Georgia State is going to raise the profile of the athletics program and should work in your favor for recruiting, even if you lose.

Wut?

The footprint for Atlanta Fulton County Stadium is accross the street. They need $5M to build the baseball stadium there where Hank Aaron actually hit no. 715.
