What does a senior adviser do? Does he advise players and coaches how he completely destroyed a program that has never recovered?
He would be a terrific hire if that was the goal.

His record at NIU that is posted in the article is a disgrace and embarassment to him. He should have never stayed here as long as he did.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Former Colorado and Northern Illinois coach Ricardo Patton has joined Vanderbilt's staff as a senior adviser to new coach Jerry Stackhouse, it was announced Thursday.
Patton, a Nashville native who played at Belmont, coached Colorado from 1996 to 2007 and went 184-160 with two NCAA tournament appearances. He coached Northern Illinois from 2007 to 2011 and posted a 35-83 record.
He spent the past three seasons as an assistant at Denver.
