StillJonesing DM'd this to me lol so he must be fired up... My experience with ECU alumni is they root for ECU in football and Duke in basketball, so I'm sure there is some mixed emotions here LMAO. I sent him back the article from MidMajorMadness stating Kai as a top player to watch next season and he questioned the sites credibility SMH. I blocked him from ever DMing me again. Dude is a loser.

Lol.
Should’ve just found ANY old article on that site praising a ecu player.
Probably will take days, or even forever to find one though.
He wouldn’t have sniffed the court at Duke with Delaurier coming back, and two Five star bigs in Matthew Hurt and Vernon Carey Jr. Especially the way Coach K doesn’t utilize his bench.

-Seahawkhoops had sent me a PM after we lost to A&T last year in football and we've had a pretty friendly back and forth since. I just posted it on that same A&T thread.
-Gary posted this that I didn't get a chance to respond too.

After reading about this kid, Duke didn't offer until Monday, when he de-committed from WFU. This is a bigger loss for the Deacs than duke, but telling that Coach K offered this late in the game.

Sometimes, I think the blue bloods offer these kids who would be high quality mid major performers to just sit on their bench for the "feel good" of being on that team as a way of ensuring they don't see them on other low level P6 or mid major teams.
Reminds me of the relatively wasted talents of Wilmington local, Stilman White.
Bricks I think Duke/Coach K just really liked him. He visited Duke same week he visited ECU in fact it was one trip back in January before he even commited to Wake.
Duke Basketball: Coach K may soon land his most underrated recruit:Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski’s late offer to an under-the-radar 7-footer could prove to be one of his slickest moves as a recruiter.
Seahawkhoops mentioned 7 footers suck in the PM, and I actually agree with him, I'm skeptical of 7 footers too but we've never got a 7 foot ripped 240 guy that hit's thirty 3 pointers in his highlight video with a 7-5 wingspan that hardly has to jump to dunk. I can see why teams wanted him even if was for potiental only.

At the very least, he looks good getting off the bus. From that short clip, he doesn't look to be a great athlete; not very explosive. Then again, if he was athletic, in that body, he'd be a 5*. I can see why he wanted to play for Danny Manning, but probably the likelihood of Manning only having one more year had to be a deterrent. It will be interesting to see how ECU incorporates him. Seems like he'd be better in a half-court offense, but probably better there than Duke. Who is the last player that Coach K developed?
Congratulations on the get. Can't wait to see Toews tie him in knots ; )

Coleman's not explosive but I like the skill and shooting. With Gardner being a low post force we really just need a guy that can get out of the way down low and stand out at the 3 point line and be a threat to make one and give Gardner space to work, something he had none of last year. Someone that can do that while also being a deterrent at the rim on Defense is ideal. He seems to have both of those things covered pretty well and be a great fit with Gardner the next 3 years. If he's anything more than that they could be a scary one two punch.

So you are going to rely on a 7 footer to be your 3 point threat?

I said "a" three point threat, not "the" three point threat. Basically we just need him to get out of Gardner's way in the post IMO and just stand at the 3 point line and have some purpose as a threat in the worst case scenario and pull the other center out there.
We were the 350th ranked 3 point % shooting team last year so Gardner had no space at all. All these JUCO's we brought in shoot at least 35%+. Should be able to shoot 3's respectably out of every position. I'm not sure Coleman even starts next year. I do think he will play some though and can fit that role at minimum.

By my count on VC, Dooley is bringing in 11 new players?! That’s 11 out of 13 allowed scholarships. Talk about rebuilding.

Possibly 12. We are in the final 3 with West Virginia and Oklahoma State for JUCO Javon Franklin who is expected to decide this weekend. We still have 4 players on the roster, 3 that were double digit scorers so I'm not even sure how it all gets sorted out other than Gardner will be here.
BTW we aren't playing next year. Dooley said in an interview last week that you guys "do not want to play".
