RE: Virginia abusing Yale
Great days to be UVA fans. Winning their first national title in MBB. Finally, after around 50 years of frustration for the ACC, a few years ago UVA finally notched a title for the conference in Omaha. Their MTEN team has won multiple titles over the last decade.

The one thing they've been missing is FB...and now, agree with it or not, I'm hearing/reading they are being picked as the favorites in the Coastal this fall (which may say a lot about the Coastal though). Of course, they haven't beaten the Hokies in FB since George W was midway through his first term. So, we'll see. Still, for UVA faithful, these are definitely good times.

Virginia starts the season at the defending Coastal Champs. We will find out quickly if they should be the favorite. I personally hope the media continues to tout the Hoos as the favorites. Narduzzi will use it as motivation for that opener.

That should be a very good game. Almost dislike the fact it is opening weekend before the teams can get the kinks worked out. But, it should be a super showcase game on the new network in prime time Saturday.

UVa is the only Coastal team who has yet to play in the ACCCG. Pretty amazing that 6 different Coastal teams have represented the division in the last 6 ACCCG's.

On the Atlantic side, the futility of NC State winning ACC titles in FB, MBB and Baseball is probably a thread for a different time. Last FB title in '79, last MBB title in '87, and last Baseball title in '92. Ugh, gotta be tough.

Syracuse and Louisville get some serious slack cut to them for not having made the ACCCG in FB considering their young existence in the league. NC State has had FSU and Clemson to deal with of course, but no league title since the days of Jimmy Carter in office? Kind of unreal when you think about it.
