This entire conference is the king of excuses when it comes to poor attendance.

I like how ULM brought 1 uniform to this tourney, obviously not expecting to go deep, and are wearing them for the 4th straight game.

9-5 ULM. Top 6th.

Warhawks' miraculous streak continues.

Edit: Jinxed em. 30 seconds after I post Coastal hits a 2-run homer.

9-7 ULM. Top 6th.

So ULM is doing well and has some momentum, and suddenly there's a lightning delay. Our radio guy and the ULM dugout say there's nothing within 25 miles, and the rule is that play has to be suspended if there's lightning within 8 miles.

Hmm...

They won't show... You know. Player safety and all.

What kind of arms are left for both teams for tonight and tomorrow?

Hmm...

Once game starts delays are umpire controlled. Tournament has lightning detection abilities and many times we’ve had games delayed on otherwise sunny days

I think this one is over. If I'm ULM, I'd start Jeans in the elimination game.

We just havent hit well in this tournament, and they have a chance to get by us, but they need an arm to eliminate Coastal.

Not true. Game management officials are in control of lightning delays. Umps have discretion on rain.

I was at the game! Clear skies. At least there was plenty of beer and Jim Beam waiting in the parking lot as the pointless delay took place 04-rock04-cheers03-drunk...

(05-25-2019 12:04 PM)_x_ Wrote:  Gotta ask.

Why are the crowds so bad for Coastal's games in this tournament?

All the Texas State fans bought up the tickets expecting a championship run? 05-stirthepot

My friend Jim Beam and I were in attendance until the 8th inning when the Chants went up ten runs. I sought shade like most of the other fans then. Many excuses for not showing up this holiday weekend range from the traffic due to a million tourists visiting the beach, Biker Week and all its annual shenanigans, 90 degrees outside but really feels like triple digit heat, family cookouts (I bailed on one to go to this game myself), Coastal's in the loser's bracket so who cares, fans traveling to other areas since it's a long weekend for most people who work/have kids in school, etc., etc. I'm sure once we are in Montgomery for ten straight years the attendance will pick up for all schools... 03-snooty

26-10 is the final! Coastal and ULM play again in one hour and fifteen minutes. Loser is eliminated. Winner heads to the championship game tomorrow to face Georgia Southern. GO CHANTS!

Coastal 5-0 after one complete inning! I'm still trying to cool off hours later after sitting in the stands. I can only imagine how these players feel and it's supposed to be even hotter tomorrow during the championship game...

ULM had a great run but they are running on empty as far as pitching

Or don't listen to my advice and start a guy with an ERA of 17 and give up 5 runs in the first.

You want to start a guy who started Wednesday night? That’s criminal.
