This is the sort of thing that makes your side look foolish to anyone who isn't already on your side.... and makes people like me who really don't care at all for Trump, defend him against such stupidity.
Let me tell you a little about trump from his own words...
He absolutely will use hyperbole to sell a 'vision'... but if he doesn't bring the goods in the end, people will find out and he will be done. He has done that thousands of times. It's how he operates. It's not a lie any more than the restaurateur who says we have the coldest beer or best steaks in town. You guys double down on this 'he lies' crap and ignore that he's GENERALLY brought the goods in the end (so far).
He made a catch phrase out of 'you're fired'. Only a partisan hack would pick one of thousands of potentially contradicting statements and not admit that there are nuances.... How does that juxtapose with the earlier comment? Easy. When you make a mistake you fire them and move on. Tillerson 'compared to most' probably WAS a good hire, but he lacks the vision/understanding that Trump wants so he's an idiot because he doesn't get it.
He also ran on the idea that 'the swamp' was about career politicians who cared more about 'being there' than about 'doing the job'. If 'his' people ceased to do that, then they would cease to be 'the best people'. It's no lie that many people have gotten in to politics with good intentions and fallen for the swamp. Maybe Tillerson was one of those.
But the real bottom line is almost nobody in this country gives a damn about Rex Tillerson or how many people Trump has fired or anything else that you guys focus on. They care MOSTLY about jobs and the economy... and you guys are getting your butts whipped there.
If I were a democrat, I'd be focusing on policy issues and differences and a vision for the country. I don't agree with the current left's vision, but that's what people care about when things are good. They don't care if Trump said he hired only the best and fires people just as fast. Whatever he's doing w.r.t the economy and jobs is WORKING (or at the very least, isn't sucking)
and you want people to worry about whether or not Rex Tillerson was 'the best' or not?
