After three innings complete, the score is now 9-3! The Warhawks have scored 3 runs each inning. The #10 seed is looking like the team to beat...Where has this ULM squad been all season?

First mercy rule of the tournament. Crucial day off tomorrow for ULM to rest it’s pitching. They’ve played one more game than everyone else, so any break is critical.
Its also worth noting that if they did make it to Sunday they could go back to their ace on a days more rest than their opponent

Only used three pitchers in these last two games, which helps. And, one of those was in a closing roll.

Not true, Jeans pitched Wednesday like everyone else.

Tournament games mean zilch in at-large consideration.
Thats what we are told, but Coastal went from potentially a host site, to out of consideration, because they were eliminated in a rain shortened single elimination tournament on a controversial call. They do weigh tournament loses, and if 1 and Q was bad, 2 and Q is a lot worse...

How is everyone ‘s pitching holding up? Besides for not having a ton of pitching depth period, ULM’s is in about as good of shape as we could ask for. Regardless we have to be out scored and no one has an answer for our offense yet. I hope UTA wins today, as I think Coastal is a much tougher out at home.

obviously the mav's pitching has run out. in the game against ulm the mavs couldnt get anybody out. the game with coastal was the same but the mavs had the advantage of batting last. they have not matched up well against coastal and so the edge today would have to go to the chants with the home field advantage. IMHO

Additionally, since the way those first games went depending on who comes out of the other side of the bracket those starters will have an 8-12 hour rest advantage on Jeans as well.

If both teams that make it to the championship game are undefeated, is it winner take all or is it still double elimination?

Wow, ULM got hot at the right time. Not sure if that makes me feel any better about losing to them in our first game, but it sure doesn't make it feel any worse...

We've been beating ourselves with wild pitches thrown but our consistent leader, Anthony Veneziano, got us through most of the first game against UTA so it's been on the younger guys to step out of the bullpen to try and save us! There's nothing wrong with our bats, though, so it looks like this tournament will come down to who can hold us to a few runs only. There's a senior out of Omaha on our roster, Matt Eardensohn, who is stellar at times but the last performance on the mound from him left a lot to be desired so it looks like Coach Gilley's put a big ole Band-Aid on this season by cobbling together freshman/sophomore arms to get us through one or two innings at a time and pray Veneziano can come back to shut down the majority of a game again...

Troy eliminates Little Rock on a 2 out 2 run walk off double. 6-5 final
Troy will play Georgia Southern in tomorrow’s first semifinal

I’m rooting for GS at this point. They always complain about their coach, so it’d be a fun situation. I mean, they’d have to (somewhat) eat their words, and then he might get a contract extension out of it.
