Here's my attempt at a new simplified mock draft:

6 GMs

12 round snake draft with order determined by lottery

First 4 picks must be in contiguous states (building a footprint)

Picks and schools already selected may be traded

Proposed trades should be PMed to the commissioner who will determine if the trade is equitable and will occur after the 12 rounds are completed

I will serve as commissioner and not GM a team to preserve objectivity

All 130 FBS teams are eligible for selection

After 12 rounds are complete, any GM with less than 12 teams will participate in supplemental rounds until all leagues have 12 teams

After the draft, each GM shall submit their division alignment and identify any protected crossovers, should they choose to utilize them. Also include a paragraph talking up the strengths of your new league.

I will declare a winner and runner up based on the following criteria:

overall strength, quality rivalries, originality, geographic and cultural cohesiveness

I will also post a fan vote thread where folks can vote for their favorite and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each conference.

Sorry--P5, G5, and FCS all at once was really confusing. Maybe later this summer we can do an FCS one.

I'm interested in being a GM.

Suggestion 1: Draft to 12 with no trades. After the draft is complete there can be trades over the course of the week and then a supplemental draft to go to 16. But trades massively hold up the draft and that shouldn't be allowed.

Suggestion 2: Schedule a time. With no trades the draft should take less than 2 hours. If the GMs commit to that scheduled time, it will actually get done.

I have to say I like the idea of holding trades until after the end of of round 12 to keep things moving. You can always PM each other to line up potential trades while the draft is in process.

Now let's set a time. I'm thinking a weeknight. I'm thinking 8:30 pm eastern, Thursday the 30th. Let me know if that works for you or if we can push the date back. If someone can't make it one of the alternates can always jump in.

Personally, I think 12 rounds are enough to put together a good P level conference but each GM can have the option if they'd like to pick up 2 free agents at the end.

Once we have a date and the 6 GMs set I'll draw lots to determine the order.
