RE: Best WR Corps
I don't see why not.

The position will probably get weaker across the board in the conference with no Penny Hart, Jemarius Way, Marcus Green, or Damian Willis.

RE: Best WR Corps
In terms of ability I'd likely put Darion Anderson up against anyone in the conference.

In terms of production, he won't get mentioned though.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

RE: Best WR Corps
We're returning Corey Sutton (who is one of the top two returning receivers in the conference), Thomas Hennigan, Malik Williams, Jalen Virgil, and several others with catches, in addition to adding a grad transfer /leading receiver from Western Michigan.

We have to search for something to hang our hat on. Especially after baseball's epic collapse. Epic.

RE: Best WR Corps
Troy will have a say in this with arguably the best returning QB in Kaleb Barker throwing to them.

We have 9 receivers 6'1 or taller, four of which are 6'4+. This is the "length" Neal Brown was talking about when he first arrived. We have the most talented corp we may have had a in a while, despite last year's Willis and Douglas. This season for Troy is entirely dependent on how fast the new staff and new players can get it together.

Some names to look for:

6'5 - Reggie Todd (4 Star guy out high school, JUCO guy)
6'4 - Khalil McClain (one of our highest rated recruits, ever. JUCO guy)
6'2 - Luke Whittemore (made some great plays over his career, notably last year vs GS and their best corner)
6'1 - Tre Eafford (our fasted receiver, burns corners easily. Deep ball vs ArkSt in 2017 comes to mind)

Stars out of high school mean zip on a transfer. Why even mention that?

Todd and McClain will have to adjust to FBS FB first. Yes they both had P5 (Big12) offers but I think it will take a few games for them to adjust to FBS FB (most JUCOs need at least half a year/season, some even more than that).

RE: Best WR Corps
I don’t know if Ark State has the most talented receiving corp, but they do have a hc who loves to throw the ball all over the field on any down, his offense is probably the most aggressive in the SBC, which gives his receiving corp more opportunities than maybe any other corp in the SBC.

Sure. And with McInnis and before Dahu got hurt it was a solid view.

I can’t tell if this is serious. I meant to defend the quality WRs around the SBC.

The WMU guy is the third-leading receiver on the team and fourth in receiving yards.

It was still a solid argument after Green went down. Kirk Merritt took a little while to get going as many transfers do but he was as good as anyone in the league the second half of the year.
