Guys leave after a coaching change. Had Cronin stayed, I would not have expected Johnson or Brooks to transfer. I don't see what's so objectionable about that.
They participated in Brannen's workouts and then decided to bail. That's the scary part.
And he is having trouble hiring anyone of note for assistant positions. And he has signed a tweener from Moeller. Oh Boy - excuse me for looking at the facts instead of the Cronin hate.
I was down on Bohn as an ad hire as well especially because of his involvement in the Colorado debacle with butchy. I do have to give the guy credit that he has hired what seem to be some great coaches so far, not including Brannen yet.
Rag why so negative now? I used to look forward to reading your post and insight but man the negativity is overwhelming.
If you want a serious answer...what great coaches? Brian Kelly was a great coach. Bob Huggins was a great coach. Mick Cronin was a great coach. Tim Murphy was a great coach. Dantonio and Kennedy (horrible situation here but proved his worth in the SEC) weren't bad either.
So far Bohn has hired a football coach that had a great season with CTT players and got destroyed against UCF and had a bad loss in Philly. That was last year. The year before, Marshall embarrassed his team at home - and we were lucky to win any FBS games. We will see this year now he has many of his players even though Ridder and the Truck are Tommy's. I'm hopeful.
Women's hoops could not have gone anywhere but up. Michelle may actually be his best hire on paper. But can she even get close to UConn - no.
Baseball has been no better than .500 and proved who they were by getting swept by ECU at home. After losing then to Cryami, they are 4 games below .500. Great coach?
And to replace a guy that won back to back 30 games seasons, 9 straight tournament appearances, after receiving a program that was gutted, our AD made a national search by interviewing Savino and NKU's coach. LOL - but it satisfied the grass is always greener crowd.
Mick left. I was OK with that. But the lack of effort in truly finding the right coach to keep UC's momentum going was appalling. As one large UC donor explained to me privately...."He is in over his head"
Great coaches....that's funny.
