If the law changes to let you take whatever you want, be fully aware (and responsible for) the consequences. You fry your brain, you lose your job, you rob someone to pay for your habit--that's on you alone...not one taxpayer dime for treatment or social services.

What does that have to do with drugs? Oh - wait a minute.
Thanks for the actual basketball news update.

Taryn Todd, Pg from Canada, 2020 likely, Rivals shows as a 2019 but that may be wrong
Tujautae Williams, 6'6 sf from Illinios, 2019, late bloomer that appears to have gained a lot of interest after this past year. Game reminds me a lot of Leonard Stokes from watching video.
Both 4 year guys.

Todd was 2020, but is reclassifying to 2019. Extremely athletic guard who is best in transition, has a good jump shot and is very good on defense. 3-point shooting is his main weakness.
Rasir Bolton, freshman Penn State transfer (seeking a waiver) is also visiting campus today. Would have three years of eligibility remaining.

I know they hand out transfer waivers like candy but what could Bolton's "reasoning" be?

Former Valparaiso guard Bakari Evelyn updated his list of schools that he’s talking to this evening: Cal State Fullerton, Cincinnati, Fordham, Loyola Marymount (CA), New Mexico State and Portland State (visit).
So I guess we are just brining in the same recruits that would go to NKU? Man Brannen is having a terrible start.

grad transfer pg. Former Nebraska player as well. 3 stars. Works for me as rent a pg for depth alone.

Seems like a bit of a desperation move, but we are desperate. He had a pretty good Sophomore year at Valpo, but dropped off in his junior year. Has had 3 ankle surgeries to deal with bone spurs. Shot 38% from three as a sophomore, but only 30% as a junior.

Grad transfers are rent a player. UC might need two of them just in case a few others leave before next season. One transfer, one freshman/juco, and two grad transfers. Keeps the scholarship open for 2020 and provides experience and depth.

I agree we need a grad transfer. But a guy who last year didn't average double digit scoring, shot 30% from 3 (and only 33% from the field) and had a 1.1/1 assist to TO ratio isn't the type of grad transfer I'd hoped for. Especially considering he was at Valpo and not some bigger school.

Texas Tech brought in: Matt Mooney (not from a bigger school) and Tariq Owens (averaged 8 ppg) and ended up fine. (Before anyone tries to put words in my mouth, I'm aware this UC team is nowhere near a Final Four team)
Anybody looking to grad transfer to Cincinnati this offseason will also have a list of schools that look just like Evelyn's. Like it or not, that's the reality of changing a coach in college basketball now.

So it is hard to put a positive spin on a former Nebrasketball commit who had a very good Sophmore year and then dealt with a bunch of injuries that required multiple surgeries? When healthy he 50% from 2 and 38% from 3. Maybe bone spurs in your foot will hurt your shooting percentages? Either way, it would only be for 1 year on a team that needs to add some depth.
Absolutely no positives in this though.

Hard to sell a top grad transfer on UC when we can't even guarantee a shot at a starting spot given the uncertainty surrounding Cumberland and his role if he returns. A PG to compliment LoJo is in order, but again it's hard to get a top transfer when the future is already here.
Replacing Brooks is more of a certainty, but that type of player is slim pickings. We're pretty late in the process and still haven't had all of the pieces settle. Three star prospects are a success at this point.

I'll take them over Hurricane Katrina refugees, and football players.
