Not sure what your problem is. This is a good thing that's happening. Basically an extra visit for bunch of 2, 3, 4 star kids without GSU spending a dime. Our coaches can be up and close with local HS coaches and players. I dont see any downside for GSU hosting top football schools every year..

Well this escalated quickly...

Don't know how Charlie Cobb convinced anyone

Don't expect any improvements until he is gone although the video board will allegedly be new by Sept.

Also have no idea what Charlie Cobb does with the money or with his work day. But I imagine it involves digging an ever deeper hole to bury our dreams.

Fast forward two years, if we make the trip this year what upgrades have been made?
Charlie says sit down and shut up and not in that order necessarily...

I know Charlie, he'd be the first to admit the gameday atmosphere was terrible in 2017.

Wouldn't you have had the same extra visit when you were playing in the dome and the HS games were held there?

I think his statement was referencing comments your own fan base has had regarding CSE and his lack of success/interest in recruiting players from Georgia... particularly the metro Atlanta area.

I'm not sure if your coaches will be allowed to get close to the players even at your own stadium. I really don't know how the recruiting rules would apply in this situation, but if I recall during contact periods they are only allowed to contact each athlete once per week so it's not like they would be able to be around them constantly. I do agree it could help in your recruiting..... if your AD and department don't muck it up, which they have a tendency to do.

So just don't do any money drops or "bait and switch BOGO Free Coupons" and you should be good. 02-13-banana

Georgia State Stadium...where champions play (and Georgia State). I personally think it’s a good idea. GHSA probably got a cheaper deal from GaState than MB. That deal also mutually benefits GaState so congrats.

Previously, the title game was played in the Mercedes Benz Dome where the Falcons play. It hasn’t been held on the high school fields in quite a wile.

I was a sophomore in high school when my school hosted a state championship back in 2003. I believe it was the last (or maybe 2nd to last) year that they hosted championships at one of the competitors high schools. I actually liked that format. The problem was that not every stadium had the capacity to host a championship. Mine did (Valdosta) but many places struggle handling regular away crowds, let alone high priority event sized away crowds.

2007 was the last year.

Watched a Dell McGee coached Carver of Columbus beat Cairo on Cairo's field.

2008 the championship game was in the Dome where Cairo (with Jonathon Bryant and JJ Wilcox) beat Flowery Branch quarterbacked by Connor Shaw (with Jaybo and Connor's dad as coach).

Sadly, I remember this yet I can't remember what I had for lunch 2 days ago.
