CBD is legal in all 50 states as long as it doesn't contain THC. You will see it in mainline grocery (kroger, walmart etc.) soon. They all wanted it, but nobody wanted to be the first to blink. GNC carries it now and I know and its flying off the shelf.

Yeah, this is the yellow flag for me. He's been on the job for over three weeks, and hasn't hired an assistant coach yet. That seems odd.

Two weeks ago, it was reported that Brannen had hired an assistant who was with him at NKU, Sean Dwyer.

so is this like, a thing? doss man put up the bearcat coaches on the uni site and it was like only joke and a couple other dudes with not that important sounding titles

04-cheers I guess I shouldn't be surprised I got a strong response to a humorous post (I laughed so that made it humorous) on a sports forum.

The UC site still had some of Cronin's assistants up there for a while, but they aren't there anymore, and I'm guessing that was just a technicality while they were still under contract or something?

Dwyer's not been announced by UC yet, but the Enquirer reported it and they aren't exactly printing rumors about UC hoops, so I imagine it's accurate.

Cronin has a new assistant coach at UCLA to go along with Savino - Rod Palmer.

It's been about 3 weeks since Brannen was announced. No panic from me, but it would be nice to see some progress.

yeah. i just hope he doesn't reach for some juco. i can't imagine any high schooler left would be worth taking a flyer on. i'd rather stay put and focus on recruiting half the team for 2020

whoever's on the team i just hope it's enough to utilize brannen's tantalizing new philosophy. does he like to play a lot of guys? because we're starting to feel like smu

An empty recruiting class this year is just going to lead to more issues down the road. As we'd end up pretty unbalanced a few years down the road, with half the class being in the same year. Makes more issues for playing time (guys can't wait for others to graduate to get playing time if their all in the same class) and also consistency (half the class graduating in the same year). It could help making one big run (senior laden teams tend to do well in the NCAA tournament), but I'd rather go for consistency. The ideal is 3 players per class, right now our Sophomore class has 2 and our Freshmen class for next has 2 (Hardnett/Gillam - redshirts). Ideally, I'd like to add 2-3 guys to the freshmen class, otherwise we will have a team in 2 years with only 2 seniors and 2 juniors - unless we use JUCO's or Grad transfer to balance it later on.

I'm okay with adding a couple of projects to redshirt (like T. Williams or Christopher Maidoh - who we've supposedly been linked to but haven't offered). Give them a RS year and he can be as good or better then a 2020 high 3-star. Adding a quality non-redshirt freshman this year might be difficult with how late in the year it is, but it's possible we will get someone.

RE: Brannen's first month
I think the idea of balanced classes in college basketball is passe. With immediate eligibility for graduate transfers, and many more undergraduates obtaining waivers to play immediately, it would suggest that classes can be re-balanced on the fly. And if UC starts getting blue chip recruits again, we can almost count on those players leaving after one, two or three years.

We had just one notable recruit for the coming season and it's understandable (though questionable judgment perhaps) that he would look elsewhere. None of us may ever know what really happened with Brooks. And JC may or may not return. Brannen was dealt a tough hand being hired late in the game. I have confidence he'll figure out what he needs in terms of staff and available recruits and field a competitive team in November. But he gets a pass this season as all of this was outside of his control.

Yeah, it really just depends on what type of roster you're trying to build. If you're trying to build with roster stability like Mick and have a bunch of 3-4 year players you need balance. Look at what happened this year when Wichita loss 6 seniors and a couple transfers. But I agree if you're willing to get involved in the grad transfer market and maybe take a few more shots on higher end recruits that you can work around balance.

I hate to continue the serious note here, but the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy put in place a law that says only CBD products approved by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy are legal for sale in Ohio.

That doesn’t mean it will be heavily enforced or followed, but it is currently the law.

Most saw it as a greedy effort to protect the investments of the big money players who were awarded (bought) the limited licenses for grow facilities and dispensaries.

Brannen's first month
I'm waiting for someone to go off the rails, go full out Wildman Walker, and threaten to camp out underneath the Bearcat statue until CJB fills out his staff and signs a Top 25 class on short notice.

lol at the Mick fan boys who want Coach Brannen to do in a month what Mick wasn't able to do but maybe once in 13 years, namely, sign a highly rated class. lol

I told many that if Cronin ever left that it will make things tough but
wow, some of this is sounding like a game thread.

Just legalize all of it and get the sweepers out for the carnage that follows.

But don't ask taxpayers to fund treatment.

I saw this thread about Brannen's first month, and figured I should check it out to see what's going on. Since we're talking about taking drugs, I'm guessing it's been a rough month for some people.
