They had a open house to check out progress. Crazy how fast it's getting built. So much closer over the players. Its going to be a lot louder and not a bad seat in the place.

Will have to be a different AD. This one thinks he is done and has answered us that the stuff we want costs money so basically shut up.

The second level needs to be completed behind/beyond the new East stands. Whether that is tearing down the RF upper deck or connecting the East stands to the upper deck. The cost to tear down the RF upper deck back in 2015 was reportedly $9M. I would just as soon have an architectural firm figure the most aesthetic way to connect the east stands to the upper deck and call it a day. It would not be the first unbalanced CFB stadium and it would at least make it look like a football stadium like it did as Centennial Olympic Stadium.

The way you have it now though makes it look like a smaller version of the state of the art stadium Baylor built.

Not a bad thing at all in this day and age.
It's not bad but we can't stop there

just a massive waste of time and money to appease idiots that will forever have an issue with something

yea for $500 more they could have a TV twice that size probably

what I am thinking is that the TV retracts up and the larger white area is for projection, but these days that is hardly cheaper than a giant TV

What did Dick Butkus say about George Halas? "The old man throws around nickels like they are manhole covers"

That's our AD. He had players moving football equipment from the old facility to the stadium. Before the stadium opened three years ago, he had staffers painting the stadium. Cheap.

Chopper video from today. Really taking shape and such a drastic difference in size compared to the old. Almost double in height.

RE: Stadium Renovation and Construction Thread
I thought it would be interesting to show a before and after.

This picture of Ohio was taken around 1968 but this is how the stadium looked all the way through 1985. By the 80's it was the worst facility in the MAC.

Then the renovations started to come in gradually since the mid 80's to the point where Ohio has some of best FB facilities in the MAC.

1986 End Zone Seats
1992 Press Tower
1998 Stadium Lights
1999 Weight Room
2001 Lowered Field
2003 Video Board
2005 Football Operations Center
2008 Hydrotherapy Room
2010 50 Yard Chairbacks
2014 Indoor Practice Facility
2016 New Locker Room
2018 Academic Center
2019 Ribbon Boards
2020 Players Lounge

ODU's stadium looks great and actually looks bigger/better than the renderings I saw. Was there changes to the original design?

The renderings that have come out are pretty much changing every time as they've raised more money or other things change.

I think the latest renderings as visible in the seat selection website are what we will see. The north end zone is now about 2 or 3 years out. They're starting a campaign after some other priorities like more suites I believe. Not sure what or where those will be but my guess is on east side.

I went to see it in person when they had a open house and it really is a lot bigger than I anticipated based on renderings. The west side was 54 ft tall and now its 93 or so. Makes a huge difference. The stands are very steep and angled for viewing. Its going to be very loud in this thing. I'm getting excited.

Thanks!

Now that I go look at Lane you're right. A .75 scale Lane in it's original form. I'll take that.

I think it will be a similar experience in steepness but man is Lane crazy feeling at the top looking down.

Looks a lot like CCU's stadium except more end zone seats.

RE: Stadium Renovation and Construction Thread
Apologies since this isn't actually a stadium project, but there are indications NDSU has raised enough money to start construction on an indoor practice facility later this summer. (North Dakota does not allow universities to bond athletic projects, so all the money must be committed before ground can be broken.) NDSU currently uses a bubble during the winter because there were other, more serious, needs to deal with first. NDSU already has a separate facility just for indoor track & field, so this will not be much of a multi-purpose facility. Maybe a little early fielding practice for baseball and softball, that's about it. A softball indoor practice facility is coming just after the football IPF, but it will be mostly for pitching and batting plus a set of locker rooms next to the softball stadium instead of a block away.

With all the crap we got for having bathrooms over 100 yards away when we moved up, wanted to have fun with this as well.

Holy crap. those are real bathrooms going in for the 2019 season with other fan improvements this coming season.

Ralph, is that a restroom? Yup, it's wicked pissah!
