That’s the number one reason G5 players leave. I know the three that left us weren’t happy with their prospects after spring ball wrapped up

....Ian Bush would have been a starter, or at least seen a LOT of playing time.

If Ian Bush started for us in 2019, we were in trouble on the DL.

Phillips is in reality the starter, but Bush wasn't buried on the depth chart either and it would have been good to have the experienced depth.

Of interest to GS and App fans.

Have no idea who the tweeter is, but there is a subscriber-only update about Feaster on 247 from yesterday.

Per an article I read he is on track to graduate from Clemson this summer and be immediately eligible wherever he ends up.

He would be a huge addition for App or GaSo. That dude averages around 6 yards per carry for his career at Clemson. He'd likely be an NFL draft pick too.

Can’t speak for GS, but if he expects to just show up and get he starting job at APP he is in for a surprise, Evans was one of the best backs in the Sunbelt last yr, and might not even be the best back on the team, Peoples is going to be special, if he joins the squad he is going to have to work hard to get significant playing time. Would love to have him, he would add depth, just have to see what happens.

Do you think any athlete "expects to just show up and get the starting job?" I get the hyperbole, but geez. If the kid fits for App then I'd welcome him with open arms as in your ending statement.

I agree our stable is likely full of well qualified, punishing, wear out the defense RBs. I wonder how they will be used in an offense none of us other than Drink and Co know. Peoples is an incredible athlete.

I hope all the kids in the sunbelt who have a chance to be great keep their noses clean this Summer.

Like you said, would love to add competition or depth to our already loaded roster.

RE: SBC Transfer Portal
I think it’s only natural for a kid coming from a team that has won 2 out of the last 3 national championships to a little G5 school to believe, atleast privately, that he would have an advantage against the existing competition. My point is, the backs we have returning would start at a lot of P5 schools, if he comes to APP, he is going to have to work really hard against quality competition to earn the starting job.

RE: SBC Transfer Portal
Troy WR/ATH Bee Hinton is going in the transfer portal. Odd that he announced it after spring practice was over.

Makes me think he didn't anticipate much playing time. He's only played in one game in his career. Has mostly been a scout team guy.

Could not agree more. I think all of these guys (not just the P5 to G5). But all of them, have a little awakening ahead that the dudes on the teams they are going to are not going to give up their roster position rankings just because new dude with X, Y, and Z credentials. Heck they may not even be accepted that well in some situations due to loyalty and simple human reaction with “It is my turn”

This is something to watch just because of Coach Lunsford’s and Coach Swinney’s professional relationship. Lunsford has gone to spend a little bit of time up at Clemson this offseason and that G5-P5 link could be interesting as far as transfer portal is concerned.

5* RB Tavian Feaster is confirmed to transfer from Clemson and will be eligible immediately. Top 4 schools are App State, Georgia Southern, UTk, and UNC-Cheater Hill

He excels at leg power and making short sprints through the line. He's a mess to tackle and would give SBC defenses fits. He would fit in our offense like a glove and would likely get a lot of reps and film if he's looking to boost his resume for the NFL after this season.

He would have fit in well at App under Satt's offense last year, but I don't know enough about what Drink is going to do with the offense to make that call.

Why did Sawyer Smith transfer. That’s a huge loss.

Troy's QB room was oozing with talent. Two young three stars and a JUCO transfer that played for Vanderbilt were behind Sawyer and Kaleb. Still lots of talent, but now the concern is experience if Kaleb tears his ACL a third time.

I'll say this. Kaleb was successful largely because Neal and Matt Moore let him run hogwild. If Chip holds run packages back because he's afraid Kaleb will get injured, the offense won't be nearly as successful.

Is it the Unsolved Mysteries or Twilight Zone theme that plays when one enters the portal? Or is it the X-Files theme?

I imagine he believes he would win the starting spot at any of the 4 schools

Not to mention Marcus Williamson, who had a great Spring, and Daetrich Harrington who was poised for a breakout season before injuring his knee in the Spring last year.
Peoples has great potential, but both of those guys are really good.
