It is getting much praise for the last act but I much more enjoyed the middle. However, there is something towards the end that didn't sit right with me. I will need to stew on it a bit. While it doesn't ruin this movie at all, I fear it will ruin the franchise for me moving forward, or at least the MCU's July release.

I could feel my wife rolling her eyes.
This was always going to be it, the end for me. Ever since we started getting g hints from Feige as to what Phase 4 will look like I knew that Endgame would be pardon the pun ,the end for me.

Especially with the inclusion of an overpowered character with zero flaws and no character development that will be the face of the Avengers going forward.

I'll watch select films going forward ("Asguardians Of the Galaxy", "Spiderman"), but I probably wont be as interested in the connected narrative like I was with the Infinity Saga.

At least your wife went with you. Mine said "I'm not sitting through 3 hours of that junk." So speakth the women who will binge watch hours of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." I love her but my goodness.
I scored 20 years ago. Wife loves football and is a SciFi and comic book movie junkie.

RE: OT - Avengers: Endgame
I went to see it yesterday (Saturday) morning. I don't think the "overall" nature of the ending was a surprise to anyone but I do think it was executed pretty well. There were a couple of things that I wish they had done differently but overall it was very well done.

I've been dating a woman who wasn't into the Marvel movies, but she's a good sport and has caught up (mostly) over the past few months. She actually said she thought it was her favorite of the Marvel movies.

I saw it yesterday and I thought it was brilliant. I'm going to go see it again in IMAX 3Din about a week.

I'm looking forward to the next phase of the MCU, particularly the cosmic characters and settings.

Has Feige actually said that Captain Marvel is actually going to lead the next incarnation of the Avengers? Because that would be one of the negatives.

I would be ok with that. I thought Captain Marvel was awesome. I do think Marvel will suffer from the same problems the Star Wars franchise is currently going through, though. I'm not sure they can one up what they've done for the last 22 movies.

RE: OT - Avengers: Endgame
Just can't enjoy a movie in a crowded theatre. I get bugged by the side chats and kicking of the seats.

That, and spoilers don't bother me too much, so I don't mind knowing how the story ends, which I already do (and fully recognize that others don't like it so I keep that stuff to myself).

I'll wait until its in its like last run in the theatre, take off work in the middle of the week, and go to a matinee so there will be maybe 10 people in the entire theatre. Or just wait for Disney+ (since I figure it ain't gonna hit up on Netflix).

I hear you. I grinned and bared it twice because I honestly didn't want t avoid news for a week. But I will see a third time in a couple of weeks.

Caught a 9:30 show Saturday morning and there were less than 20 people in the theater. The later shows were all sold out.

Dang.. That's awesome.

I've been checking on the "buy online" screens, and I have yet to find a showtime (even during the week) that isn't at least 80% full.

I thought I'd be lucky since I work from home and go mid day during the week, but thus far, still too full for my liking.

Besides, for me? I like the movies, but they aren't my "gotta see NOW" types. Thankfully, scary movies these days aren't in that category so I get to see those relatively early.

I saw it at a movie drafthouse on sat. 1:00 showing not too crowded. I liked it ok just spots where the scenes could have been shortened I think. no reason for it to be 3 hours long. my own take is that the female super hero thing has worn kinda thin on me. I liked the action and effects of course. If not for the grandkids I would have waited and gone to a cheaper showing during the week.

I thought it was really good. But a few of my complaints are how drawn out the first hour is, and what they did to my guy Thor. Straight up disrespect. And of course, I'm not a fan of the method they used to save the day. It doesn't make sense to me.

I thought Thor's new look was pretty hilarious. He was drinking a Creature Comforts in one scene and I thought that was cool.

I knew I sent my kids to a pretty cool private school when we went to a school function Sunday afternoon and I had a long in-depth chat about a comic book movie with a couple of dads including the CIO of a major fortune 500 company, one of the leading surgeons in our town, and the head coach of a DI men's basketball team. In that was all anyone was talking about all afternoon.

It's ok to get enjoyment from fun diversions in life. Everyone needs a hobby.
