Bearcats in the Draft
Any thoughts on when "our guys" might go in the draft? Broughton is the most likely to be drafted but I figured I'd start the conversation.

RE: Bearcats in the Draft
I still think Broughton has a shot in the 3rd round but he'll probably fall to the third day and get drafted somewhere between 4-5. Maybe Copeland and Campbell 6-7.

Yeah, I've seen Broughton anywhere from 3-6 in most mocks...Copeland has popped up a few times, as has Kahlil Lewis and Kimoni Fitz. I'd be surprised to see more than one guy drafted though, as most of the seniors seem like camp contracts and Campbell, while talented, is almost 25 years old, which is a huge notch against him being drafted.

EDIT: Copeland has gotten some national love lately https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news...lue-picks/

I forgot about Lewis [maybe that's not a good sign in terms of getting drafted]. Agree that he and Campbell would likely be good camp invite prospects. If we can get two drafted this year that would be great.

RE: Bearcats in the Draft
I know this is a tad early but Wiggins has a shot to be a first rounder IMO. He has such a great combination of athleticism, power, speed, and football IQ for a safety. The last first rounder UC had? Bob Bell, DT, 1971, #21 overall. Drafted by the Lions.

Also, the last time UC had more than one player drafted was in 2016:
Parker Ehinger, OG, 4th Round, 107 Overall, Kansas City
Chris Moore, WR, 4th Round, 109 Overall, Baltimore

The most we had drafted in the same class was in 2009:
Connor Barwin, DE, 2nd Round, 46 Overalll, Houston
Kevin Huber, P, 5th Round, 142 Overall, Cincinnati
DeAngelo Smith, DB, 5th Round, 143 Overall, Dallas
Brandon Underwood, DB, 6th Round, 187 Overall, Green Bay
Mike Mickens, DB, 7th Round, 227 Overall, Dallas
Trevor Canfield, OG, 7th Round, 254 Overall, Arizona

I'll take Gary Moeller's second half of the season when Bobby Ross ghosted the team over anything. That was the last time I legitimately was excited about that team...then the bears hit a 54 yarder with no time left, Millen fired him as his first of literally hundreds of bad decisions, and we've been dead ever since.

Firing Fontes was the beginning of the end for Barry wanting to play football, and was arguably one of the bigger sliding door moments in semi-modern Detroit sports (along with picking Darko over Bosh or Melo and trading John Smoltz)

It could be worse. You could be a Browns fan. Franchise left for Baltimore. Rebuild in 1999 that perpetually stayed in motion thru 3 owners, multiple front office personnel (remember Carmen Policy and Mike Holmgren?) and only starting QB's were more numerous than their head coaches. I've had nothing to get excited about for two decades until this past season. I'll buy ya a round...or two...

The Bengals and Lions are #1 and #2 on the playoff win drought list. Lions last W I think Scott Mitchell was the QB, around 93'? Going off of memory.

Yep...got beat by the great Greg Williams and the Washington Redskins that year. Rough one...

Who did you keep raving about that had the best metrics nationally of the lineman. Or my confusing that with the year before?

Korey Cunningham, he was a 7th rounder last year for the Cardinals who ended up starting 5 of their last 7 games and allowing the least QB pressures of any OT against the Chargers in their game, and played as a more than serviceable tackle in that span. Still baffling how a guy with his measurables, tape, and advanced metrics didnt go higher than that.

They added two OLmen in the off-season so I'm presuming hell be shuffled back to a reserve role, but as the #60 rated OT in PFF in limited action, hes arguably one of the best reserve linemen in the NFL already.

You're better off unless your a top 3 round pick to be a free agent and go to a team with a specific need. Anymore i think it's the best way for marginal guys to catch on. Sometimes you get picked down in the last round or two by a team who has a iffy need at that position and you spend a lot of time with them and get cut. Lot of wasted time.

What’s hilarious is that Korey took the starting job from Andre Smith, who was released from Arizona and picked up by the Bengals. Bengals has Big aCountry here in their back yard and should have drafted him.
