2019 Football season tickets
Other than on the athletics website mentioning that season tickets are available -- I am VERY disappointed with the extreme lack of ease for getting season tickets.
There are no active links to link you to ordering season tix.
If you google NIU Football season tickets, you get info about 2018 season tickets, nothing about 2019. We are in 2019, right?
If you get to what I think is the right site, it wouldn't sell you tickets, only ask you to reserve them and tells you packages are available but doesn't tell you what they are.
Call me lazy if you want. That's not the point. The point is, boy! If it were easier to buy them, I bet more would be bought.
If a fan shows enough interest to look into purchasing at that point, that is the moment to sell the person. If you let them leave your site without buying, chances of them coming back to do it are much lower.
Here's to sincerely hoping someone in athletics gets into the 21st century as far as how to sell on-line. Am I wrong in thinking most people today are not calling Eric or so and so at the ticket office to buy season tickets???? Rather they are looking to do so on-line?

The person in charge of ticket sales now is Thomas Stolley. His email address is Tstolley@niu.edu
If we want to help NIU ticket sales resolve this issue why not email Thomas & ask that he look into the problems /ideas you just posted? Let's get Huskie Stadium filled up again

RE: 2019 Football season tickets
You are correct. Know a few people who want to buy ST but haven't because the website isn't very useful -- as you said.
In contrast, I looked at Louisville's website and they're offering $156 ST for a schedule with Clemson and Notre Dame. I went to buy one (as I'll go to the ND Labor Day game and could resell Clemson) and it took less than 5 minutes to sign up, look at whether every seat in the stadium is available/unavailable, and process the order. A+.
Each school should make its ticket website as easy as possible to order tix. There are so many people who'll go to order and then exit out as soon as they hit a roadblock.

1. I did not, and do not know that he is the person whose responsibility it is;
2. I am a loyal die-hard Huskie fan, but I also have my own job to do;
3. lack of confidence that they will actually follow up and do anything.
In his first year I told Frazier that I thought the fly overs of military aircrafts that they do at U of I were really cool, and that I thought it would be cool if we did it, and that I had looked into it and had information on who to contact, and that it was a service the armed forces offered, and I had who to contact to schedule etc. He said, he was looking into it and possibly next year they would do it. and ... ... ... crickets. (How many years ago was that?)
That's one example. So, I am here if they want to call me for ideas. Or, .... they could figure it out also. It is NOT rocket science. Hell, I think they are doing it in Toledo, so it's definitely not Rocket science!!!

1. Agree with everything you said in your original post. Personally, I'd rather the website be up to date, efficient, and interesting rather than receive another tweet from anybody in athletics.
2. Unfortunately I'm not surprised by Frazier's lack of follow-up because his administration is full of people simply using NIU as a stepping stone. They automatically get defensive if questioned rather than even stopping for one moment to consider whether a criticism, question, or suggestion is valid and / or workable.
3. Absolutely enjoyed the Rocket science comment.
Unofficially, believe I lead the board in having "old man emojis" attached to responses to many of my posts, but with every change in administration, no one is 1) interested in the past, 2) cares to hear about the past, 3) believes something happened and / or worked before. Mention that because I believe Chihuskie is of a vintage like me that remembers what a success the Business/Ag season opener used to be, or that we once had a game ball delivered to the stadium via parachute.
What if every home game had a game ball delivered somehow? Involve the local community with a police car or firetruck with flashing lights pull up with the game ball; Have the NIU Supermileage team car deliver it (also promotes NIU mechanical engineering); the NIU ROTC march the game ball onto the field; NIU tech department deliver it via a drone; hell, let a local merchant deliver the ball from a car or truck displaying their name be it Hy-Vee, Domino's, Hauser-Ross; an armored truck with a First National Bank banner, etc.

Excellent ideas!
I, too, am an old fart, and I, too, have had the old emojis stuck to me (among other things). I remember how under the prior several ADs how much better things ran (and things were far from perfect then). I have given up with this current regime. I, too, have offered kindly-worded suggestions that disappeared in the wind. I now accept the mediocrity of this DII-level administration and just take things as they come. If I'm okay with something they do, I'll buy it. If things are done that are not what I expect from a properly-run college athletics administration, I will just shake my head and ignore them. My wife and I have a hard time believing the ineptitude we witness at times.
P.S. By the way, the person who I have dealt with at the ticket office is Colin Bruning, and he is excellent. I prefer more to deal with Colin than with the HAF, but my ticket questions or requests are usually funneled back to the HAF. Let's just say that my dealings with the HAF have not been a bed of roses.

Pork sandwiches on Bus-Ag night! Ohh baby! Nothing like it! And you are right on point on all the rest. And these are all low or no cost ideas!

I agree, the ball delivery thing could be great. They could even have a Jimmy John's vehicle pull up, the driver gets out and runs over to the ref to give him the ball, then runs off and drives away. Freaky fast and promotional for them.

It took me a while to find the problem you were having buying season tickets because the two ways I went into tickets it took me right to selecting what section and how many tickets and up popped the two seats I would have. But then I went in a third way and ended up with the $20 deposit option. I will make a call tomorrow and see if I can help them get this corrected. Thanks for pointing this out.

RE: 2019 Football season tickets
Remember the Huskie Fan Advisory Board? Go to the website and see the last time any info was updated on that. As of a month or so ago, it was a year stale. There was a schedule of meetings running into late 2018 or 2019, but no updates posted on what happened. I did email an assistant A.D. who was listed in some of the meeting minutes and didn't receive a response.
The point here isn't to revel in the good old days and yell at clouds. It is to point out how as attendance has dropped across both revenue sports, somehow the personal touch has gotten even worse. Personal touch with donors/season ticket holders and personal touch with respect to pride and how well the organization runs. There are some very good people working hard. Unfortunately, the direction at the top is poor and overall execution is lacking.

Has always amazed me how bad NIU is at things like this. Fully convinced a group of people from the board would be more effective with marketing/sales/engagement than those in the positions now. Has been this way since I was a student 06-10.

RE: 2019 Football season tickets
There are many issues with how the STF regime has treated its donating fans. The personal touch of past administrations is indeed gone, and I have felt it as soon as STF and a new HAF staff came aboard. I won't get into it all, because I do have something positive to report.
I have been a big proponent of women's basketball for many years. The NIU women's BB program is simply outstanding with the way it treats its fans. I am a season ticketholder, and every year I also donate a few hundred dollars to the program. I cannot tell you how many e-mails and personal cards of thanks and appreciation I get from Coach Carlsen and the team. The other day, I got a card with a nice message personally written by one of the players. Not only did I feel touched by this gesture, but guess what? I will soon be donating more to women's BB. See how this works? Because the huge majority of donors do not donate to the women's BB program or even attend the games, they are unaware of how well this team treats its fans. Donors who do not donate to women's BB need to be treated with the same respect and shown this same appreciation. Maybe the women's BB program should provide a clinic for the Athletics office on how to treat its donors.

It's not even close. Sean is to busy glad handing a few people, serving on diversity councils, and interviewing for bigger positions to be bothered.
