Blazer previously pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud, one count of securities fraud, one count of lying to the SEC and one count of aggravated identify theft. In exchange for this, he helped spark the government's investigation into college basketball.

RE: Ruh Roh- FBI informant
So? I guess my assumptions that this shoe scandal went beyond basketball to football is correct. So Alabama football is in hot water. Does that mean they forfeit wins and National Championships? Does that means post season bans like no bowls for the schools involved?

Nobody has a danged thing to worry about. The list included North Carolina and that program is teflon. So nothing will stick no matter how damning the evidence or the extent. I mean if bogus classes billed through the bursar involving student loan money can be deemed out of bounds for punishment whether from the NCAA or the accreditation folks and the government was interested enough to get involved, then nobody has a thing to worry about. They were all caught with the kid that just can't be prosecuted or convicted!

Holy Cross is safe. If I were Lycoming, Lock Haven, or Bucknell, I'd be worried.

Mark Emmert read this news and immediately ordered his minions to double Cal Poly's penalties to prove the NCAA means business.

Paraphrasing Jerry Tarkanian just isn't clever any more. Can't we come up with something original?

It looks like he was paying them to become their financial advisor once they went pro. Other than the involvement of the PSU assistant coach, I don't see a connection to any of the schools, nor any benefit to them.

The cardinal sin according to the NCAA is any connection to an agent. That's why they went after 2005 USC so hard and those were players who were upperclassmen. Georgia Tech lost an ACC title, scholarships and got probation because 1 player got $300 worth of clothes from an agent and paid him back after it became public.
Its right up there with the Cal Poly penalties for most excessive.

That depends. If you take the position of God then yes we are all guilty.
If you take the position of worldly justice is an unenforceable law really a law? Probably not.
I just love these kinds of matters. If threatened with sanctions and Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, and North Carolina all decided it was time to leave the NCAA how rigorously would that bloated bureaucracy really want to pursue sanctions?
We are talking about some of the bell cows of the college basketball and football that have been affected by the FBI investigations and 3 of the Big 10 and 2 of the ACC are involved here.
