You can't make the same call to Graf every time the city or the school needs money. Where is International Paper's money? Servicemaster? Any of their spinoff companies? Autozone? The Redbirds got some of their money, give the city some more. Raymond James? The city is headquarters for several fortune 500 companies and several more have large operations here. You can't call Graf when you need a check. It is time for others to step up and help out.

There is NO WAY the Liberty Bowl could get a corporate sponsorship naming rights deal for business purposes for a million a year.

The University of Memphis in theory could get a naming rights deal for sentimental reasons as a way give a donation (like the Laurie-Walton practice facility) but the City owns the Liberty Bowl and may not agree to do that for the U of M. Of course no one is donating money to the City for naming rights to the building.

Why do you think nobody would pay the city for the naming rights? Somebody would. It's just a matter of how much.

I looked at it before I posted. None of the examples seemed to involve a non-Power 5 playing in a city owned stadium.

BTW, it seems like you think we can get a deal like we got for FedEx Park. That’s not likely until a new football stadium is built. As long as the Liberty Bowl is city owned, can’t see a deal working out for naming rights.
