It has been so quiet on the recruiting front. I know we had Curt Lewis in for a visit a few days ago. Has anyone heard any other names we have a good shot at landing. I think the staff has gone into stealth mode but hopefully they have some guys lined up. I think we are a few good pieces away from having a very good team.

I think there's been an NCAA mandated dead period in basketball recruiting the last few days so that's why you haven't seen anything.

Not going the way some of us want, so I kept what I’ve seen to private discussions.

UAB had G Curt Lewis of Aspire academy on Campus for an OV two weekends ago. Visited EKU and MTSU days before. WKU and Jax state in his top 5, too.

I’m not gonna act like I know what’s going on. Just sharing what I see. Football recruiting backfired on me when they pretty much sh*t the bed in feb and realized they had no spots to offer and had a number of unsigned guys still committed . Whether they’d like to admit it or not. Irvine said they could have squeezed another recruit in with Brian Merritt, but he simply chose elsewhere.

Hopefully we can recruit some guards that shoot the 3 well

Intresting perspective. I find it hard to believe this staff was surprised or unprepared for offers and commits vs scholarship numbers. They seem extremely organized. Maybe Im misunderstanding your post.

Former UAB recruit Rodgerick Brown from Memphis is transferring from Wichita State. Was one of our top targets and a likely signee until WS slid in late. I think he would have been in same class as Zack. I wouldn't be surprised to hear another former signee Ryan Boyce, also from Memphis, transfer from the Tigers. Hardaway is expected to have the no. 1 recruiting class and his playing time is sure to be limited. He was also a "walkon" last year after getting out of his UAB LOI to play for Hardaway. Don't know if he would pay his way again if he doesn't have to.

Beckley Prep's Ahmad Price, who averaged 22 pts, 7 boards and four assists this season, is now hearing from UAB, NCCU, and North Carolina A & T. Kentucky product is all around scorer who can take leadership matters into his own hands, as he showed throughout '18-19 campaign

Ok, but I was just pointing out that we are in on two Kentucky guys for this class. How was Bell and Perry to you also. Also the two time leading assist pg in the juco ranks is from Kentucky but we're not in on him.

No offense, but I am good with that roster spot opening up.

Hope we can get a couple of juco guys or a senior transfer or two who can legitimately help us right away. We need to make these last few schollies count. And even though there are a ton of pretty good players in the portal, I don’t think Ehsan has the time to have anyone sit out next year.

Thought McCoy was a walkon last season.

I could be wrong, thought I read McCoy say he’d been put on scholarship going into last season(2017-2018). Verbal commits never changed that, on their board. I remember griping about it when discussing how many spots we had over the last two classes.

I bet it will take a while before all this settles given that everyday there is a new player in the transfer portal.
