RE: Hall chose to be Receiver
Hammock said several times he wants the scheme to allow players to be where they're best, that he wants to offer guys a chance to show what they can do, and get them where they're best fitted to be successful. Looks like Hall has taken him up on it. Maybe Wright too, from the article. This is DEFINITELY a new era in Huskie football.

Hall has good size for a wide receiver. And we have seen that he is very athletic. Glad to see that the kid wanted to make the move.

In high school, the best athletes play QB or RB. You want the most talented kid on team with ball in hands. That is why you see so many RBs converted to other positions. H@LL, The Bears had a DT who was a runningback in college.

RE: Hall chose to be Receiver
Don't know about Davis and can't recall about Maddie, but Smith came in as a rb and got switched to lb (and then de) after a safety picked up a fumble and Smith flattened him. It just happened; he said himself he just reacted as a defender. Coaches saw it, so the change.
THammock, though, actively encourages players to tweet "call outs" to others to compete with one-on-one in practice. That seems to be pretty much team-wide, rather than incidental.

RE: Hall chose to be Receiver
Hall realized he would never see the field as a QB and NIU was “weak” at wr. The problem Hall will have is while NIU isn’t strong at wr, they’re not really weak now. Tears has been a guy that’s been hard to support but he is pretty damn good. His first two full seasons match up with most of the better NIU wrs of the last ten years. And that was with a terrible passing attack. Robinson is a matchup problem for corners and Richie comes in with skills and experience. Throw in Tucker and Payne and I don’t know where Hall fits in. And that’s IF the really nice 2019 wr class all get red shirted.
Hall is a better runner than receiver. So maybe a few screens(sorry) specifically to give him a chance to run. Idk. I do want to see him in space. Dude can run the rock.

Good points, but good to see the competition. Tears, Richie, Tucker, and let's not forget Brinkman.

We'll see if Hall can make it at WR. Be shocked if he ever will be as good as Britt Davis. Would love to see it happen. Tears and Davis are about the same.

I wish Britt Davis would have had his eyes checked while playing QB. After he got glasses, he did quite well at WR.

Britt Davis made a good choice. Landed himself in the NFL for a few years.
