All other offers were D2 schools and Dixie State.

RE: WAC Commits 2019-20...
I did not elaborate on whether he was good or not. I'm simply putting the information on the board. You will know if I am impressed with a certain recruit. Other WAC programs have signed some good recruits in the past. It's just they haven't signed them in great enough numbers to topple NMSU from #1 in the conference.

BTW, Ethan Spry (6'8, 215-lbs) is joining the GCU team for 2019-20 as a walk-on. He averaged 17.6 ppg and 10.4 rpg for Scottsdale Christian Academy.

Intrigued by All Frey. No D1 offers besides Dixie, and SU so late, but he is two-time Utah 6A 1st-team all State and two-time region MVP. His tapes look good. We will see down the line, likely a RS next year.

While they still have offers out to a local prep guy and highly-touted transfer David Jenkins from South Dakota State, would take transfers for it to work

That puts SU full at 13 scholarships, so no grad transfers. Depth being forced into action showed us some hidden talent, specifically Riley Grigsby (true freshman) and Mattia Da Campo (junior).

Frey doesn't appear to be a great athlete (only average) but he uses his body very well; and appears to be a fairly skilled scorer. It will be interesting see how he develops and whether this level of athlete will be good enough to lead Seattle U to a WAC Championship.

Watching him honestly reminded me of the typical Hayford player at EWU. We will see what happens, SU is offering all 4 guys for the last 2 spots very late in the process, after/at the end of the season. They apparently we're thinking grad transfer but looks like Da Campo and Grigsby won their spots for next year.

Either way, the core for the future (guys entering SO or JR years) is:

Terrell Brown JR Guard All-WAC 2nd team

Riley Grigsby SO Forward

Trey Hopkins SO 3-star Guard....... Boise State commit - injuries (and flu for a month) kept him out most of the year, and what I was told was mental adjustment to higher level. Raw, but you can see the skill he has.

Rip Economou SO Guard...... 10 D1 offers, has a lot of work to do like Hopkins but can shoot and has an inside game too.

Aaron Nettles would be fifth but needs to show improvement when healthy. Really a shame he missed all conference play and the rest of the season, not only because hes the only true PG on the roster, but to keep learning and getting better. If it isn't him, then Ian Burke or the two freshman this year. There's definitely a "core 4" for the future right now, just not much PT for them all yet. Grigsby and Brown already look like future WAC POY candidates though.

And pipedream of David Jenkins would be a dream come true

According the Verbal Commits, UMKC has added a D2 transfer to its roster. He is Demarius Pitts (6'4, 180, So.) from Clinton, MD. It looks like he will need to sit out a transfer year before becoming eligible (in 2020-21). He averaged 13.1 ppg & 4.1 rpg while at Virginia Union.

Thanks for the info. Looked at the UTTC game log:

http://www.uttcthunderbirds.com/sports/m...log&pos=sh

Half the games are over 100 points, with a few in the 140's. Clearly it's a different style of play in that league. Let's see how he holds up in the WAC where defense is taken seriously.

The region isn't very competitive.

If he can keep up that 38% from 3 and even just half of those rebounds that would be more than enough to make up the loss of bowie.

McClain's numbers are inflated because of the weak JC region he played in this past season. Best case scenario, McClain turns out to be another Terrell Brown (Seattle's). Brown came from the NWAC JC league where he averaged 30.0 ppg, 8.1 rpg, & 4.0 apg for Shoreline College. The NWAC is no where as talented as the NJCAA or CCCAA but Brown dominated a relative weak league. Although McClain came from a weak Division 2 Region 13, maybe he is a legit D1 impact player. Worse case, he becomes a reserve player off the bench and eats up a scholarship for the next two years.

The NWAC is a pretty solid league Brown was the only guy on Shoreline that could play ball.

It would be nice but i'm not expecting the 23 ppg. We need multiple guys who can shoot 3's around the 40% range and he might be one of them.

Per Verbal Commits, UMKC gets a commitment from Adefolarin Adetogun, a 6'1 190-lbs, freshman point guard from Regina, Canada.

Adetogun is supposed to have 6'9 wingspan and I will admit, for being a high school player he has some serious guns and is pretty chiseled.

Fofo Adetogun Highlights
