It seems we've hired a women's BKB coach. Matt Daniel. The natives are VERY restless over this hire.

Coaching hires aren’t our AD’s strong suit.

We’re getting a few looks at gender equity with all men coaching the women’s sports and we hire another male.

One not liked by our fans to boot

At the end of the day it really doesn’t matter. The sport really doesn’t move the needle on the national scale and there aren’t many eyes on it. If the rumors are true that this hire was made to appease the Fowler family then I’m ok with it.

Piss on any prominate famy that can sway the hire of a coach away from the best candidate, to a family friend.

A guy from Jonesboro who used to coach at UCA and Marshall. Resigned so his wife could pursue a job opportunity here in Arkansas and has been out of coaching for 2 years. He is hated by our fans because his name is not Molly Miller.

Yes the son was mad his electronics store didn’t win the bid to install the sound system. He was mad about not getting to make money off of the University. Do you think he really had any plans to donate money?

Hire the best candidate for the job period. This guy isn't the best candidate. The fact that nobody cares about WBB doesn't make it any less offensive.

You do know the whole program could be shut down and not many people would notice. So...meh. Having said that our AD needs to move on.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say our message board donates a fraction of what we get. Not many heavy hitters over there.

Don't really understand the hate for Matt Daniel. He was very successful at UCA, and was named Conference Coach of the Year, twice. Apparently he did struggle at Marshall- I don't know any details about that. But, still his time at UCA shows that he can coach. He is a local guy. Maybe his local ties help raise money. So, again, why the hate?

Wrong choice with ties to Springfield, Jennifer Sullivan should have been the one.

In his years as a women's coach in leagues not known as WBB powerhouses the best he could do was WNIT. stAte just fired that guy.

Not really defending Matt but he did well at UCA as they transitioned from D-II to D-I and got them into the NIT and one of the other lesser tournaments...not bad for a program moving up...and was vote SLC coach of the year twice. THen he took over a traditionally weak Marshall team and in year 4-5 took them to the NIT and a lesser known tournament.

I’m willing to give him a chance...besides I was told Molly Miller doesn’t want to leave Springfield.
