The ladies bow out of the WNIT after 26 wins...
with only 2 seniors on the squad, i've got high hopes that the ladies improve and do some damage in the 2020 Dance

Time to start testing ourselves in nonconference. Hopefully it’ll toughen them up and have them ready to go when conference tournament comes around. Also hoping they would do well enough in both halves of the season with tougher comp that they can get an at large bid.

Tough to watch your team on the wrong side of a game like that. Arkansas had a great crowd for WNIT game.

Still a good season for our ladies program.

I expect that with ACC and SEC teams but I was surprised at how much taller and quicker Troy was than UAB. Coach Norton has done well but it looks like recruiting is the obstacle to taking the next step up.

Troy also had a WAY better crowd than we would have if we’d hosted. You know how to help recruiting for WBB? Show up. We’ve got a good product, but our crowds are pathetic.

I agree. The Ladies’ schedule was even weaker than the men’s schedule.

It is fairly common knowledge where to look for top football recruits, but where does one look to find top WBB HS players and do JUCO programs have them? Is Alabama a fertile ground for such players as UAB needs?

Unacceptable. That said how many here went to more than one women’s game?

Across the board, outside of football, attendance lacks.

RE: UAB 52, Arkansas 100
A huge problem with minor sports attendance at UAB is the lack of student involvement. For example at our local high schools, if students didn't show up for the sports besides football, there would only be parents in the stands. There's just not a lot of general community interest in girls sports, or boys sports either that don't involve helmets and pads. Boys basketball sometimes depending on the school. That's just what I've seen from having several kids playing in the OTM/Bham area.

In a lot of BlazerTalkers days at UAB things were very different but now there are thousands of students within easy walking distance to our facilities. Got to find some way to get those kids out of the dorms and to the games they all get in free.

I think I saw them play 6 times this year at the Bart, 4 wins, 2 loses.

According to one of our players, the team is pretty banged up. Several players are having surgeries for lingering issues now that the season is over.
