RE: NCAA tournament
Every shot we took it was like we were afraid of it getting blocked. We played nervous offensively. I've never seen us miss so many easy shots, have so many 3s come up short or airball. I dont know if we were afraid, but we were definitely nervous. Defensively we were okay until KU's first run in the 2nd half and then we basically gave up.

Honestly this was really embarrassing.

I dont want to take anything away from our CAA title or our seniors who gave so much to NU. I had a great time watching them. Looking at this game in isolation though you have to argue that it was one of the more pathetic things I've seen in a while. :(

Kansas won 87-53. They made two-thirds of their two-pointers. You lost by 34, which is the second worst NCAA Tournament loss by a CAA team ever. In 1990, 3 seed Duke beat 14 seed Richmond 81-46. CAA teams have played 68 NCAA Tournament games. It makes Hofstra look bad to have lost to you. Of the first eight games, Kansas was the only better seed to win against the spread.

To beat Kansas we would need to play really well and they would need an off game and neither happened. Just not a good matchup for us.

I just want to thank the Husky players and coaches for their success this season in the face of obstacle after obstacle. Winning the CAA tourney by first beating Charlston in Charleston and then beating a talented Hofstra regular season champ was fun to watch. Players always say, "We're not just happy to be here" but, for me, any season that ends with a NCAA bid is a success.

Cant argue with that. I thought KU might've been having a bad day half way through the 1st half but we just couldn't put it together.

Yeah, we hit three out of our first five threes then they went small and we struggled to get the open looks we're used to getting. Kansas was the number one preseason pick. They lost a few players but their team is loaded with McDonalds All Americans. They were a four seed with one seed talent.

You really couldn’t wait to post this on our site right?

Do you get some satisfaction in putting all of this right after the game? I mean seriously who does that?

I want to thank the seniors Vasa Puscia, Anthony Green and Jeremy Miller for their time at NU. So glad they got a chance to win a championship!

Looking for to the solid core coming back next season with the two additions kandgmc mentioned.

We should still be the favorite to repeat next season too.

Yep. Now it would make my day if we could land a 6' 10 five with a jump shot with our last scholorship.

There are fans of 283 teams that did not play in the tourney. Be proud you were there.

RE: NCAA tournament
Sorry for the loss there. I was rooting for you. This didn't look like the NU team I am used to seeing at all. The early shots were there and just off, especially Vasa. Early in the 2H, the announcer mentioned that NU looked defeated and wasn't playing with passion. That just surprised me, they are always so well coached.

In one of his pressers Coen talked about the value of having an older, experienced team and how they were trying to "stay old" so holding the last ship for a two or three year transfer makes sense.

RE: NCAA tournament
It's a few days since the game. I do want to complain a little bit about the NU ticket office. I had a very difficult time getting tickets to the game in the NU fan section, but plenty of Kansas and Gonzaga fans had no issue.

I went to the NU website on my phone (was traveling at the time) after the selection show and saw instructions to call/email the ticket office for tickets. Now, apparently there was a link to buy tickets on the site, but it was NOT prominent at all, and I'm not even sure it was there on Sunday on the mobile site when I checked. My calls/voice messages/emails all went unanswered until Tuesday when I was the site said sold out. I emailed again a few times explaining my situation and finally was responded to and got my ticket. Lucky me I had the pleasure of sitting next to Gonzaga and Kansas fans in the NU section. They had bought their tickets on stubhub..

So either the NU ticket office put our fan tickets on stubhub and then claimed they were "sold out", or any random person was able to buy them from NU and sold them on stubhub themselves. Pretty lame that it ended up being a lot more difficult for an NU fan willing to travel to get a ticket than other fans of other teams. And I didn't even get to sit next to NU fans, though the section had more NU fans than non-NU fans probably.

RE: NCAA tournament
STL, I didn't try to buy tickets so I don't know how prominent the "buy link" was or when it was there but it sounds like there is room for improvement and emails and voicemails should never go unanswered. It seems like now is the time to get answers to those questions. Fans willing to travel should be treasured, not ignored and the process of getting tickets should be easy.

If I was as frustrated as you I would email the AD, with copies to Coen and Murphy, describing your experience and asking if he has ideas on how this could be better handled in the future. If you don't, nothing will change. (It's my experience that you can't get some folks to understand how important it is to reply to emails and voicemails. "I was really busy" is not an acceptable excuse. Sometimes they should just be put in jobs where that is not part of the job description.)

PS. There are lots of ways Kansas fans could have gotten seats in the NU section. The least likely is that our ticket office put our allotment on Stubhub and claimed that we were sold out. (Unless they made it so difficult to get tickets that all the NU fans just gave up trying to buy. lol)
