A lot of history with Hughes, who was an early W&M target in HS, also. He was expelled by his HS at the end of his senior season. Original UCF commit who backed out with the coaching change. Transitioned to Hargrave. Committed to UNCW, then decommitted with your coaching change, and signed with Indiana State. Now transferring.
Hope he ultimately finds what he's looking for, but that's not luggage I'd want to take on.

Yeah, noting all of that it sounds like he's not worth the trouble. Pass.

UNCW "decommitted" Hughes. Not the other way around.

Yikes. You think these guys would let the process play out before making a rash decision.

To be fair, they have gone the PC route and said they aren't excluding WM and waiting to see who the next coach is.
That being said, I don't blame them here. Pierce already has interest from 25 other schools (a lot of big time P5s) and I think he's available immediately due to the grad transfer route, if I remember correctly. Milon might be eligible as a grad transfer, I'm not sure. As far as Audige goes, reading the WM boards Shaver was the point man on getting him to WM. Additionally, he's a freshman that already made a significant name for himself in the conference and would likely draw moderate to major interest from P5s (especially since he still has 3 yrs of eligibility remaining).

Understand on the grad guys. With Audige. I go back to the CJ argument, rafters here, or average player at that level....

There's that sure, but I still don't fault the players. CJ Bryce may very well end up as another "average" player at NCSU, but I have to admit his visibility is higher there for any post-collegiate basketball career in the US or abroad. He'll likely have more "contacts" at that level as well. That's not always a guarantee or true for every player, but I still don't fault him for leaving. I wish he had stayed and we had been able to see the Bryce/Cacok combo (especially with Toews this year) but that ship sailed a couple years ago.
Going back to what all this means for WM, and it's starting to seem that perhaps those saying the players were all going to split if Shaver stayed were wrong. It appears they're on the wrong end of about to lose 3 starters from next year's team.

WM 19/20
Yeah, at a competition for UNCW standpoint... it's helpful, but still hurts the quality of the conference. As a fan, I really feel for them. Especially considering they have a loyal and dedicated fan base that deserves getting that elephant out of the room. Just a bad situation all around right now.
