Better than watching the same teams that you watched last year battle it out for umpteenth time in the NCAA Tournament.

*Good lord they play in a smallish high school gym. It doesn't look bigger than Fogelman but I bet they are close.

Strange deal - the championship is determined by a best of 3 series.

Normally not a fan of these but if we can get the younger guys more experience, it may be worth it.

Potential second matchup with LMU from the WCC. This would be an exciting home game and a team we should target for a HH. They would be too three or four in CUSA. The WCC plays an exciting brand of ball.

Why at Brown? Do they draw better attendance than UAab?

Brown's final home game was a win against Cornell. Attendance was 1,600.

RE: UAB at Brown
Brown, like most Ivy League schools, was begun by a specific religious faction to train their ministers - the only profession at that time to warrant a college education. As I recall, Brown was founded by the Baptist Church. Pennsylvania was the only one founded as a secular school by the always practical Benjamin Franklin.

BTW, Homer Smith,a well known football coach, held a Masters Degree in Theology from Harvard.

RE: UAB at Brown
So glad they decided to join one of these. Anyone else think it's kind of interesting that they don't make this more of a round-robin style tournament? The main point of teams playing in these is to get young squads more minutes, so it seems to me like it would help out more if teams were guaranteed 3-5 games and take the top 4 from that.

RE: UAB at Brown
Wonder if there is an upper limit on the number of games a team can play in a season.

I imagine that there is a regular season limit as well as the added max conference tournament games along with possibly the max number of NCAA tournament games (which would transfer over to the same max of CBI games) The final 2 CBI teams will play a best of 3.

Our attendance has been abysmal so I don’t blame them for going on the road. Also it’s less money. Maybe if we win we can host next game.
