I think that is still TBD. Ive seen both ways posted.

If it is, that makes it worse for Memphis

Every year the AAC has been considered a neutral tournament, it will be again this year.

Yesterday, CBSS said the Memphis games will be considered a home game for them and an away game for the opponent. Everyone else a neutral site.

That has never been the case before and won't be now. Over Memphis it will say Memphis not home.

St. John's will not be the home team in msg either.

How can you be so confident in something you are dead wrong about

Calm down. I am only stating what was said on the broadcast I was watching. I have no idea.

Who is excited? I was just pointing out in the past that hasn't been the case and I doubt it will be now.
The official NCAA word (which came out last week) stated the games will be considered home games for Memphis.

Thank you for clarifying and also for posting a source to backup your statement.

Their statement was to clarify how tournament wins by Memphis would affect their ratings. Not sure how the tournament itself will place visitor/home team tags. Isn't it the lower seed is considered the "home" team thus wearing home unis?

Here is the article from the CA that says they just clarified it last week which implies it was changed.
https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/s...978720002/

I was confident because a week to ten days ago one of the reasons it was unlikely that St. John's would fall out was the games at MSG and the expectation that all teams would be top 100 for the tier victories.

Doing family stuff but I will look to see if I can find the reference. A quick search didn't come up with any changes from past stances concerning tournaments. Perhaps it came in with the new net system and I missed it. I usually stay on top of critical things like that.

Initially I was shocked, but the NCAA doing whatever it wants with no rhyme or reason seems normal. However if it is the case that the Big East will count every game as neutral and the Memphis games will not that is a huge advantage for the Big East, despite playing on St. John's home court. It just changes the way everything works by moving the line.

Either way yet another reason it is unlikely the tournament will ever leave Ft. Worth after next year.

It's ok 4ever. I still love you.

Well, another poster stated that MSG isn't really St. John's true home arena because they only play 5 games there this year. They play the rest at their on-campus facility.

The home court status for the Tigers benefits the AAC. The Tigers have to win the AAC Tourney to earn a Dance bid so their NET does not matter. However, teams playing the Tigers obtain a NET boost by winning and minimizes the effect when losing.

If you are in town only 2-3 days, and just want to enjoy a meal overlooking the MS River along with the AACT.

I think the Bearcats got the perfect draw to win this thing, but I also don't feel particularly good about any possible game the way UC is playing.

So let's say Memphis does somehow win... How many games does Temple have to win to make this a 5-bid league?

I’m sticking with one. If Wichita beats ECU and Temple beats Wichita I believe we are a lock, regardless of who wins the tournament.

Semi-Final if very few bid thieves.

Final if a bunch of bid thieves.

That would be epic. I kinda wish we had their 6 seed.

In this particular case and for next year it won't matter (it'll be a true neutral) but since the NCAA claims any team playing more than two games as a home team on a court that is a home floor, if Memphis doesn't count than neither should St. John's who could be in direct competition with the AAC for bids.

Side note the further we go into this bubble the weaker it is. Memphis could conceivably catch the bubble as it falls, it has a solid net ranking, a name, a story line in Martin and Penny. Really all they need a quad 1 wins who knows how it works out.

If I recall properly, the pundits predicted a down year for the AAC, but overall the conference seems stronger.

Agree. Beat the Wheat, and you're in.

BTW, Wichita did themselves a big favor by getting the 6 seed, vs. the 5. Missed Memphis and Houston. I could see them getting hot and winning to the final.

And yes, I know if they got the 5, they would miss Memphis anyway, but this is definitely the easier draw for them.
