Wasn't there some talk of Greenville, NC getting a bowl? Or was that just pure speculation?

There is still talk about the BBQ Bowl from Greenville NC. They're ahead of the game as far as their organization goes. It wants to be an AAC, SBC, CUSA bowl game.


We all but knew that with the MWC losing the Vegas Bowl that the Arizona Bowl would be their new flagship bowl game. It does suck to lose our one tie-in with the MWC.

We need something out here in the west guys...

I mean, not to say that the Sun Belt doesn't need more tie-ins, but... Why put a bowl game where it only benefits one team's fans out west.

Most of the bowls are in Alabama and New Orleans (a good centered location). The Arizona Bowl didn't really help traveling for the TxSt fans. Tucson is about the same distance as New Orleans.

Yeh, definitely not. Bar-B-Que Bowl reps were meeting with the NCAA officials as late as January of this year aiming for 2021.

Hopefully this will allow the Rocket City Bowl to have a tie in with the SBC like they want. The bowl is ready and just waiting approval from the NCAA. Were on the list prior to the shutdown of new bowl games.

That's the one I couldn't remember the name of. I was googling Rocket Bowl and kept getting stupid results for Toledo football.



A rotating tie-in with the Rocket City Bowl or BBQ Bowl would give the Belt 5 bowls a year if off set with the Myrtle Beach Bowl.

A bowl on Little Rock, SBC v MW would be a good place, if they ever got their act together.
